Position Summary:

The Quality Engineering Technician is an hourly position that supports the company’s AS9100 and ISO 9001 registered Quality Management System (QMS) in an electronics component manufacturing environment. This role is primarily responsible for facilitating and maintaining the Non-Conformance (NC) and Corrective and Action (CA) programs in accordance with standard requirements. The position ensures proper containment, investigation, root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and effectiveness verification to support product conformity, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.[MD1]  

This role works closely with Quality, Production, Engineering, Purchasing, Customer Quality, and other cross-functional team members to support quality-related activities and help resolve issues, maintain accurate quality records, and support overall quality system effectiveness. Process ownership, approval authority, personnel supervision, customer quality ownership, and final disposition responsibility remain with Quality leadership and assigned functional owners.

Key Responsibilities:

· Non-Conformance (NC) Management: Administer the NC process, document NCMRs, coordinate containment activities, support MRB and follow-up activities ensuring traceability of nonconforming material

· Track NCR/NMR status and support timely closure of records.

· CA Program Facilitation: Facilitate CAs, support root cause analysis, track actions, verify effectiveness, maintain documentation.

· Supplier & Customer Quality: Manage supplier NC’s and CA’s as assigned. Support customer complaints through management of internal CA’s as required.

· Root Cause Analysis & Risk: Support investigations, risk mitigation, and FMEA participation.

· Quality System Support: Maintain quality records, support audits, and help ensure compliance with company procedures, customer requirements, and the registered Quality Management System.

· Traceability & Configuration: Ensure traceability and configuration control in ERP system as well as controlled document databases.

· Data Analysis: Track quality metrics, NCR/NMR status, CAR/CA status, document revisions, and other assigned quality data.

· Document Control: Support creating, reviewing, updating, releasing, and maintaining controlled documents, quality records, and related document revision history.

· Review quality records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.

· Assist with internal audits, audit preparation, and follow up activities.

· Help identify process improvements and support continuous improvement activities.

· Work with Production, Engineering, Purchasing, the Quality team, Customer Quality, and other cross-functional team members to resolve quality-related issues.

· Ensure quality files and records are organized, accurate, controlled, and readily available for audits or customer review.

· Perform other duties as required.

    


Requirements

  

Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree, technical training, or quality related coursework in a related field preferred.

· Experience in a quality, manufacturing, engineering, inspection, or document control role required.

· Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar quality management systems required.

· ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT), Certified Quality Inspector (CQI), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or related quality certification preferred.

· Knowledge of CAPA, NC systems, electronics manufacturing, Excel/data analysis, and document control processes.

· Ability to read and understand procedures, work instructions, drawings, specifications, and inspection records.

· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

· Good written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality management software preferred.

· Experience with IPC standards, FMEA, aerospace background, audit support preferred.

Work Environment

This position may require work in both an office and manufacturing environment. The employee may occasionally be required to stand, walk, inspect parts, review production areas, and handle quality records or inspection documentation. PPE required on the manufacturing floor.

Physical Requirements

The employee may be required to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and use a computer for extended periods. The role may also require occasional lifting of light materials or records in accordance with company safety guidelines.
