Job Overview:
The Driver/Yard Supervisor is responsible for the daily leadership and operational performance of an assigned branch. This position oversees personnel, equipment, fleet assets, customer service, safety compliance, and route execution to ensure efficient, safe, and profitable operations.
The Driver/Yard Supervisor serves as the primary operational leader within the branch and is responsible for developing employees, maintaining service quality, supporting customers, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This role requires a hands-on leadership approach and the ability to provide direct field support when operational needs require.

Responsibilities:
Operations Management
- Direct daily branch operations and service execution.
- Coordinate personnel, equipment, vehicles, and resources to meet operational demands.
- Monitor route completion, service quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
- Track driver progress throughout the day and adjust schedules as needed.
- Maintain communication with dispatch, routing, sales, and customer service teams.
- Utilize company systems including Elements, Paylocity, Samsara, and Fleetio.
- Identify operational issues and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure branch readiness for seasonal demands, special events, and service fluctuations.
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop branch personnel.
- Establish clear performance expectations and accountability standards.
- Conduct employee training, coaching, and performance reviews.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, disciplinary actions, and employee development.
- Promote teamwork, professionalism, and company culture.
- Provide hands-on leadership and support in both office and field environments.
Customer Service
- Ensure customers receive timely and professional service.
- Resolve customer concerns and service issues promptly.
- Support customer retention through service excellence.
- Maintain positive relationships with customers and community partners.
Fleet & Equipment Management
- Oversee branch vehicles and equipment.
- Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed.
- Coordinate repairs with maintenance personnel and vendors.
- Monitor equipment readiness, utilization, and compliance.
- Ensure all inspections and documentation are completed properly.
Safety, DOT & Compliance
- Promote and enforce company safety policies.
- Conduct branch safety meetings and inspections.
- Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, environmental, and company standards.
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate safety and compliance records.
Financial & Administrative Responsibilities
- Manage branch inventory and supply levels.
- Monitor branch productivity and operational KPIs.
- Control branch expenses and identify efficiency improvements.
- Maintain accurate operational reports and documentation.
- Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of leadership experience in operations, logistics, transportation, or service industries.
- Experience managing route-based operations preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred.
