Job Title: Temporary Partner Learning Experience Designer
Reports to: Collaborative Learning Supervisor
Department: Programs
Duration: This is a grant funded position (through the Gismondi Family Foundation) expected to last a duration of three years.
Job Summary: The Learning Experience Specialist leads the design, development, and delivery of engaging, learner-centered training programs for pantry coordinators, volunteers, and other community partners. This role develops curricula grounded in adult learning principles, manages the full training lifecycle from concept to evaluation, and ensures content is accessible, relevant, and aligned with program goals. The specialist strengthens Food Bank partner capacity by creating effective onboarding and ongoing learning experiences while promoting inclusive and culturally responsive practices. This is a three-year, grant-funded position through June 2029.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design engaging, high-quality curricula and instructional materials—such as lessons, activities, assessments, and multimedia—based on adult learning best practices.
- Build and publish eLearning courses, learning paths, and assessments in the Docebo learning management system (LMS).
- Maintain courses, learning pathways, and certification materials, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and proper record-keeping across all programs and partners.
- Support in-person learning by coordinating and facilitating workshops, trainings, and events, including sessions at the Education Station and the annual Agency Partner Conference.
Lead course development
- Lead end-to-end development of training courses—from concept to launch and evaluation—ensuring quality and impact.
- Translate learning objectives into engaging, learner-focused experiences using sound instructional design.
- Manage multiple course and curriculum projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and key milestones.
- Enhance learner experience and retention by identifying improvements and expanding optional and supplemental learning opportunities.
- Incorporate multimedia, interactive elements, and technologies (e.g., SCORM, xAPI, video, PDFs) into course design.
- Design and maintain partner-facing training programs, learning paths, and certification materials.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop accurate, aligned, and effective training content.
Drive continuous quality improvement
- Regularly review and update curriculum and training materials to ensure they remain accurate, consistent, accessible, and effective, using feedback, data, and evaluation tools to enhance overall course quality.
- Support and improve curriculum development and course evaluation processes, including leading biennial course reviews.
- Stay current on LMS updates, best practices, and instructional design trends to enhance learning experiences.
- Promote practices that support equity, inclusion, and cultural humility.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years in instructional design and educational content production preferred.
- Ability to design, plan, and develop effective curricula and course materials tailored to adult learning needs in a community-based setting and/or online learning format.
- Demonstrated experience educating adult learners across diverse ages and skill levels using a range of instructional methods and modalities.
- Knowledge of LMS platforms and SCORM/xAPI standards, along with experience using eLearning authoring tools to design, update, and enhance high-quality digital learning experiences, is strongly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal communication, project management, administrative, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while working both independently and collaboratively in team environments.
- Ability to obtain Act 33/34 Clearances.
