It is the responsibility of the Senior Manufacturing Engineer to plan, direct, coordinate and implement manufacturing processes for the manufacturing operations at our Leetsdale facility in support of the company objective of developing and implementing optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications, quality standards, and lean manufacturing principles.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Support and solve technical manufacturing issues, including those involving cross-functional business processes.
- Implement Quality Control requirements in coordination with the Quality Department.
- Document and submit product improvements as appropriate
- Improve product quality and reduce manufacturing costs by maximizing efficiencies and developing optimum procedures by using 6S and lean practices.
- Assure the ability to cost effectively manufacture new products before market introduction.
- Develop and maintain SOP’s and work instructions for all manufacturing processes in accordance with established formats.
- Strategically reduce manufacturing costs without creating correspondent cost increases elsewhere in the company.
- Develop and maintain effective procedures to help ensure that all product routings are complete, accurate, and reflect the company’s lean thinking initiatives. Including the effective use of time studies as appropriate.
- Reduce existing manufacturing lead times.
- Reduce manufacturing lot sizes to gain reductions in overall inventory levels.
- Reduce materials movement in our manufacturing processes.
- Interface and maintain communication with the Cumberland plant to help ensure that both plants are utilizing best manufacturing practices. Provide technical support as the need may arise.
- Develop databases, applications software and other information systems to strategically measure key manufacturing process performance, define improvement strategies and maintain gains.
- Direct outside vendors in the design and manufacturing of fixtures for both machining and assembly operations.
- Troubleshoot equipment and process problems when required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- A bachelor’s degree in engineering is required; BSME or BSIE is preferred.
- Seven (7) + years progressively responsible manufacturing leadership experience or equivalent education and experience is required, including a substantial track record of achievement in manufacturing operational improvements.
- Experience in fluid power industry or a related industry is preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Previous ERP knowledge is preferred; SAP experience is highly preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Exceptional analytical and structured problem-solving skills are required.
- Strong self-management and prioritization skills are required.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop others through coaching is required.
- Ability to schedule and facilitate meetings regarding issues is required.

- Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and urgency; identifies what needs to happen and acts without waiting for instruction.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills; ability to lead through influence and represent the manufacturing engineer function with credibility at all levels.
