Downtown Seattle Association (DSA) works every day to make our city clean, safe, welcoming, and economically vibrant. We are seeking an Operations & Payroll Coordinator to coordinate key administrative, operational, and compliance functions across the organization. Working across multiple departments, this role contributes to initiatives that strengthen DSA and support a vibrant, welcoming downtown experience.
This role ensures employees are paid accurately, operations run smoothly, and the organization meets its accountability commitments. No two days are the same – one day may involve processing payroll for 200+ employees, while the next may focus on supporting strategic initiatives, coordinating maintenance and service requests, or partnering with contractors and stakeholders to keep Elliot Bay Connections (EBC) projects moving forward.

Key Responsibilities
Payroll Administration
- Coordinate accurate and timely bi-weekly payroll processing and related compliance activities.
- Serve as a resource for employee payroll questions and payroll-related onboarding and offboarding processes.
EBC Operations & Maintenance
- Coordinate operational and maintenance activities for the Elliot Bay Connections (EBC) program, ensuring issues and service requests are tracked, communicated, and resolved effectively.
- Build and maintain systems that support operational visibility, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Prepare reports and analyses to inform operational decision-making and leadership priorities.
Compliance & Administration
- Maintain compliance, training, and organizational records to support regulatory requirements and organizational accountability.
- Support Public Records Act requests, audits, reporting requirements, and other compliance initiatives.
- Conduct research and provide administrative support for strategic and operational projects.
Organizational Support
- Build strong working relationships across departments and serve as a reliable resource for supervisors, staff, and external partners.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, and strengthen organizational effectiveness.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- 3+ years of experience in operations, payroll, administration, compliance, project coordination, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience coordinating projects, processes, or programs involving multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a service-oriented approach to support diverse stakeholders.
- Sound judgement, initiative, and adaptability in managing responsibilities and competing priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with payroll, HRIS, or related systems preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
The hourly pay range for this position is $29.10 – $36.38/hour DOE ($60,528 - $75,660 annually). Downtown Seattle Association provides a comprehensive benefits package, including:
