Job Description
We offer a 5 day work week, paid holidays, and paid vacation in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere! Looking for immediate hires!
Perform repair work on fire trucks and other emergency apparatus by traveling to assigned site locations or in shop. Troubleshoot problems specializing in emergency equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the service and repair of all fire apparatus equipment. From simple PM work and brakes to pump repairs and testing.
- Testing and repairing fire apparatus and equipment by traveling to the location of the customer.
- Provide troubleshooting and performing installation of equipment.
- Attending to the needs of the customer whenever required.
- Provide confirmation that equipment is functional.
- Provide telephone support to the customer in order to perform troubleshooting.
- Follow through to ensure equipment is in proper working condition after performing troubleshooting.
Work Schedule: Monday-Thursday 7 am to 5 pm
Qualifications
- Must be willing to travel within an assigned territory.
- Must be dependable.
- Excellent customer service skills, both verbal and written.
- Must assume responsibility for high quality of repair process.
- Must have the ability to work independently or with less supervision
- Should have excellent verbal communication skills
- Must have the ability to work under pressure
- Ability to manage service calls
Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Clean driving record with a Class B non-exempt CDL driver license
- Knowledge of repair principles and procedures in all areas of the Heavy Truck Repair Industry
- Automotive HVAC is a plus
- 12V automotive electrical is a plus
- Automotive/Heavy truck Service technician: 1 year (Required)
- Automotive electrical systems: 1 year (Required)
- Willing to train the right person
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations· EVT (Emergency Vehicle Technician) , ASE Heavy Truck Certifications and Class B CDL are a plus and will be required within a year.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- The employee is required to stand and walk over 50% of work time.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
License/Certification:
- Driver's License (Required)
- ASE Certification (Preferred)
- CDL B
