What would you look forward to in this role?

  • Work hand in hand with the Maintenance Manager in planning and coordinating maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance, repairs, and upgrades, to ensure minimal downtime and optimal equipment performance.
  • Work with experienced maintenance technicians and team members in Operations to ensure work is performed efficiently and effectively.

What key responsibilities would you assume in this role?


Machine Maintenance:

  • Conduct regular preventive maintenance on injection molding machines, secondary equipment and fixtures for production. Addresses activity established on the preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot machinery to identify and resolve issues promptly.
  • Perform repairs and adjustments to ensure machines operate efficiently.
  • Conduct failure mode analysis and plan action for prevention and irreversible corrective action for support.
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts for secondary equipment/fixtures.
  • Perform limited quality checks to expedite set-up for production.
  • Design and build fixtures for production and rework.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
  • Document any changes or adjustments made to injection molding machines.
  • Report machine deficiencies beyond the scope of immediate shift repair to appropriate member of management for scheduled coordination and repair.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other areas to understand production requirements and machine specifications.
  • Provide technical support to operators and other maintenance staff.

Safety Compliance:

  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Participate in safety training programs and promote a culture of safety within the facility.
Requirements

What is needed to thrive in this role?

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications are a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician, preferably in injection molding or similar manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of injection molding processes and machine mechanics.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic computer experience to compose emails and using a maintenance software system for PMs and work orders.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment up to 75lbs. on a frequent basis.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to noise and other industrial elements.
  • May involve working different shifts, depending on the manufacturing plant's operational needs.
  • Desire to continually improve technical skills and knowledge.
