Summary:
The Compliance Specialist is responsible for coordinating and maintaining federal, state, and local alcohol beverage regulatory compliance requirements. This role ensures timely filing of tax reports, license renewals, product registrations, and regulatory submissions while supporting business operations across multiple states. The Compliance Specialist serves as a key resource for internal teams, suppliers, distributors, and government agencies regarding alcohol beverage compliance matters.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and submit TABC, state tax, and regulatory reports.
• Process Texas Comptroller, New York, New Jersey, and out-of-state reporting requirements.
• Manage alcohol license renewals and new license applications.
• Maintain compliance records and data within company systems.
• Monitor and update tax payment schedules and delinquency reports.
• Submit compliance filings and respond to government agency requests.
• Provide COLAs, authorization letters, and compliance documentation to distributors.
• Research alcohol regulations and communicate regulatory changes.
• Assist suppliers and internal teams with compliance-related questions.
• Support customer claims and other compliance projects as assigned.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2+ years of compliance, regulatory, or related experience.
• Alcohol beverage industry experience preferred.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with wine and spirits compliance.
• Knowledge of TTB, TABC, state licensing, and excise tax reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite.
