The Role
As Product Manager for Accessories, you are the CEO of this segment. You own the full product lifecycle, from identifying gaps in the market, building the business case, guiding development, launch, sustainment, and sunset. You will manage rings, mounts, bases, and other riflescope accessories alongside our branded merchandise line.
This is not a hand-it-off role. You will be in the details. Specifically, you will:
- Proactively manage the current and future success of the Nightforce Accessory and Merchandise product lines by maintaining a strategically sound and profitable mix of products
- As the voice of the consumer throughout product development, maintain a precise understanding of the preferences and needs of hunters, competitive shooters, and professional users for accessories (Rings, Bases, Mounts, etc) and branded items
- Listen objectively while gathering information to pinpoint consumer and market needs. Develops portfolio plans and product roadmaps accordingly.
- Analyze the product life cycle of product families and individual SKUs based on consumer, customer, and market factors, and make recommendations accordingly
- Work with Sales to develop strategic market pricing and demand probabilities for new products
- Recommend market pricing, order quantities, and reorder thresholds for branded merchandise for direct to consumer sales
- Work in conjunction with the other Product Managers and the Executive Team in prioritizing product development projects to drive the most impact for the company
- Manage product development and launch timelines, develop launch plans, and provide accurate information to Marketing and Sales for proper launch strategies
- Structure, maintain, and monitor project schedules and report status regularly
- Maintain a database of market research to include competitive analysis, market sizing estimates, and consumer preference trend data
What Makes You Right For This
The ideal background for this role is someone already working in the shooting, hunting, or outdoor industry in a product, marketing, or technical capacity; someone who already speaks the language and understands the customer. That said, we’ll seriously consider a seasoned Product Manager from another industry who has the technical aptitude to earn credibility with our development team quickly. You don't need to be an engineer, but you need to be able to follow technical conversation and contribute meaningfully.
Specifically, you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business, or related field. Or equivalent years of experience in applicable roles.
- 5 years of experience in a strategic marketing or product management role
- Demonstrated experience analyzing product and portfolio level profitability, promotional profit/loss scenarios, and growth modeling
- Ability to articulate the Nightforce Brand and explain the structure and positioning of Nightforce products
- Demonstrated aptitude for strategic thinking, analytics, and problem-solving
- Ability to participate in technical conversations with engineering personnel based on a fundamental understanding of design, manufacturing techniques, risk analysis, and tradeoffs
- A highly collaborative style; able to work well in a team environment and achieve results without authority
- Organized and focused with the ability to manage multiple product development projects in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with experience presenting to a variety of audiences
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (or Google Suite)
- Resilient character, superior customer service mentality, and high integrity in all business dealings
Preferred (but not required):
- Experience with both accessory development and branded merchandise sourcing
- Knowledge of the hunting, shooting, and outdoor industry
- Experience managing a portfolio with limited-run items

That happens through building relationships, earning credibility, and your ability to frame decisions in terms of what matters to every audience.
A Word About Where We Are
This position is based in our Meridian, Idaho office, a fast-growing community in the Treasure Valley, just west of Boise. You’ll have access to everything the metro area offers while still being a short drive from world-class outdoor recreation.
Our headquarters is in Orofino, Idaho, and this role will require regular, monthly travel to work alongside our engineering and operations teams. If you’re serious about this work, you’ll want to spend time where the products are built.
