Description
Rock Pros USA is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Water Truck Operator to support quarry operations at our Mineral Mountain location. This position plays a vital role in maintaining safe working conditions by controlling dust, maintaining haul roads, supporting production activities, and assisting with site operations.
The ideal candidate has experience operating heavy equipment in mining, quarry, aggregate, construction, or industrial environments and understands the importance of safety, equipment care, and teamwork.
Water Truck Operations
- Safely operate a water truck throughout active quarry and production areas.
- Apply water to haul roads, travel routes, stockpiles, and work zones to control dust and improve visibility.
- Monitor site conditions and adjust watering schedules based on weather, traffic, and production demands.
- Maintain proper moisture levels on quarry roads to support safe equipment operation.
- Refill water tanks and monitor water usage throughout the shift.
Equipment Inspection & Maintenance
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Inspect tires, lights, brakes, pumps, hoses, spray bars, and fluid levels.
- Identify and report equipment deficiencies, maintenance needs, and safety concerns.
- Maintain clean and orderly equipment.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance and servicing as assigned.
Quarry Operations Support
- Assist supervisors and equipment operators with production activities.
- Monitor haul roads and report hazards, washouts, or unsafe conditions.
- Support site housekeeping and cleanup efforts.
- Assist with general quarry maintenance projects as needed.
- Operate additional equipment as qualified and authorized.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all company policies, MSHA regulations, and site-specific safety procedures.
- Wear required PPE at all times.
- Participate in safety meetings, workplace examinations, and training programs.
- Maintain awareness of personnel, equipment traffic, and changing site conditions.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses.
Requirements
Required
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and active mining operations.
- Strong attendance, reliability, and work ethic.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
Preferred
- Previous experience operating water trucks, haul trucks, loaders, excavators, or other heavy equipment.
- Mining, quarry, aggregate, construction, or industrial experience.
- MSHA training or prior mine-site experience.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to climb into and out of equipment multiple times per shift.
- Ability to sit and operate equipment for extended periods.
- Ability to walk on uneven terrain and around active equipment.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in dusty, noisy, and outdoor environments, including extreme Arizona temperatures.
