Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal hygiene, bathing, grooming, oral care, and dressing.
- Assist with toileting, incontinence care, and maintaining personal cleanliness.
- Assist with ambulation, transfers, positioning, and mobility.
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed.
- Perform light housekeeping related to client care, including laundry, changing linens, and maintaining a safe environment.
- Provide companionship and emotional support.
- Remind clients to take medications as directed (no medication administration unless authorized by state regulations).
- Observe and report changes in the client's condition, behavior, or home environment to the supervising nurse.
- Complete all required documentation accurately and timely.
- Utilize Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) and agency documentation systems as required.
- Follow infection control, safety, and confidentiality policies.
- Maintain professional boundaries and conduct at all times.
Qualifications
- PCA Certificate, CNA License, Nursing Student status, or other qualifications meeting Virginia DMAS requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous caregiving experience preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Demands
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and assisting clients with mobility.
- Ability to work in various home environments.
- Ability to travel to client homes throughout assigned service areas.
Work Schedule
- Full-Time, Part-Time, PRN, and Weekend opportunities available.
- Flexible scheduling based on client needs and employee availability.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license or reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and any required screenings.
- Current CPR certification preferred.
- Current TB screening and physical examination as required.
- Ability to lift, transfer, push, and pull up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
