Job Purpose
To assist the dentist effectively and efficiently in providing dental care to patients and to promote Familia Dental's culture, mission, and values.
Responsibilities
- Perform all regular General Dental Assistant duties
- Schedule appointments and assist with appointment confirmation calls
- Train and educate dental assistants on responsibilities and job duties including:
- setting up treatment rooms, equipment, and inventory
- patient history, vitals, consent forms, and x-rays
- recognizing and responding to dental emergencies
- making impressions and presenting treatment plans
- sterilization, disinfection, and equipment maintenance
- Assist with educating dental assistants on PPE, safety processes, and company policies
- Provide dental education to staff and patients
- Help set expectations by complying with all company policies and processes at all times.
- Manage dental supply ordering and inventory within budget
- Monitor doctor schedules, patient flow, and clinic operations
- Communicate daily with the Office Manager on various clinic matters
- Attend meetings, trainings, and continue own education
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and Familia Dental policies
- Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications/Skill Sets
- Exceptional people skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills
- Computer skills and experience with dental management software experience. Denticon experience is preferred.
- Ability to work in fast paced, patient-focused environment.
- Detail oriented.
- Able to carry out written and verbal instructions
- Organizational and time management skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Meet state requirements for DA duties, continuing education, or license; Basic Life Support (BLS), cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate, and radiography certificate
- 3-5 years of dental assisting experience preferred
- Meet state requirements for duties, education, certifications

Availability / Schedule:
Office Hours: M-F, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM and Sat, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Full-time employment:
- 5 days a week, about 40 hours per week
- available to work Saturdays, when needed
- 8–10-hour shifts
