Description
Our Baristas function as the direct line to our customers. They are tasked with providing excellent customer service and maintaining a working knowledge of the products we offer. They take customer orders and prepare various items from coffee to tea and pastries as well. Our Baristas work as a team at each location striving to deliver the excellent quality and experience our customers expect from us.
Essential Job Functions
- Greets every customer and exhibits customer first attitude, exuding the 5 Steps of Customer Service
- Maintains punctual attendance
- Follows all recipes and standards - drink builds, cleanliness, workflow and customer service
- Properly operates all brew equipment
- Processes and completes customer’s orders in timely friendly manner
- Understands various barista responsibilities - floater, register, bar, etc.
- Responsible for overall general tidiness of shop / cafe - including service bar, dining room, bathrooms, dish area, storage areas
- Complete deep cleaning tasks as outline in checklists from management team
- Inform leadership team of any maintenance issues in a timely manner
- Properly handle any guest issues or complaints as outlined in the training materials and by leadership team
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education/Experience Requirements
Previous barista experience preferred but not required
Skills/Qualifications
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Meet all customer service expectations and standards in interactions with customers and fellow team members
- Must possess a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement with a hands-on, cooperative approach in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills and accountability in completing all tasks in a thorough, accurate and timely manner
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Able to stand for prolonged periods of time frequently
- Mix of standard office, manufacturing, and retail store environments
