Help Build a More Connected Bulk Liquid Waste Hauling Network
Wind River Environmental is seeking an experienced operations leader to oversee, optimize, and support the continued growth of our Bulk Liquid Waste Hauling line of business across the Mid-Atlantic region. Reporting to the Area Operations Manager, this role provides leadership across 9 operational branches, a regional fleet of approximately 85 tractor-trailers, and a team of 4+ Bulk Hauling Supervisors and Technicians.
Success in this role comes from identifying opportunities for branches to work together more effectively—sharing people, equipment, operational expertise, and transportation resources to improve efficiency, maximize fleet utilization, and support continued growth across the region.
Working closely with Branch Managers, Operations, Dispatch, Fleet, Sales, Customer Service, and Executive Leadership, you'll help strengthen collaboration across the Bulk Liquid Waste Hauling line of business while supporting safe, efficient, and profitable operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational leadership for Wind River Environmental's Bulk Liquid Waste Hauling line of business across the Mid-Atlantic region.
- Lead a team of 4+ Bulk Hauling Supervisors and Technicians supporting nine operational branches.
- Develop and implement strategies that improve fleet utilization, transportation efficiency, customer service, and overall operational performance.
- Identify opportunities for branches to work together more effectively by sharing equipment, personnel, and operational expertise while balancing regional capacity.
- Develop standardized processes and best practices that improve consistency across the Bulk Liquid Waste Hauling line of business.
- Partner with Branch Managers to improve coordination, communication, and resource utilization across the region.
- Analyze routing, dispatch, scheduling, tanker utilization, disposal locations, and transportation resources to improve efficiency and reduce unnecessary empty miles.
- Monitor key performance indicators, operational trends, and financial results to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and operational planning to support the continued growth of the line of business.
- Champion a safety-first culture by ensuring compliance with DOT regulations, environmental requirements, company policies, and operational best practices.
- Support the successful integration of newly acquired operations into the Bulk Liquid Waste Hauling line of business by promoting standardized processes, collaboration, and efficient resource utilization.
- Partner closely with Operations, Fleet, Dispatch, Sales, Customer Service, and Executive Leadership to support profitable growth and exceptional customer service.
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of progressive leadership experience within Bulk Liquid Waste Hauling, Environmental Services, Septic, Grease, Waste & Recycling, Industrial Services, or a closely related industry.
- Demonstrated success leading multi-site operations, regional transportation networks, or large-scale hauling operations.
- Strong understanding of vacuum truck and tanker operations, fleet management, routing, dispatch, transportation logistics, equipment utilization, and operational planning.
- Experience leading supervisors, field operations, transportation teams, or regional operations across multiple locations.
- Understanding of the unique economics of bulk liquid waste hauling, including maximizing loaded miles, minimizing empty return trips, optimizing tanker utilization, coordinating resources across multiple locations, and balancing customer service with operational efficiency.
- Strong business acumen with experience using operational metrics and KPIs to improve performance.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build collaboration across multiple branches and functional teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational reporting systems.
- Bachelor's degree in business, Operations Management, Logistics, Transportation, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Ability to travel up to approximately 50% throughout the assigned region.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $110,000 - $150,000 at the time of posting with an annual target bonus opportunity estimated at 20% of base pay. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
