Assistant Chief Engineering Technician
Location: Breckenridge, CO
Position: Full-Time non-exempt
Compensation: $29.00 - $34.75/hour (DOE)

Responsibilities
- Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical systems (HVAC, boilers, pools, plumbing, electrical, etc.).
- Ensure all preventative maintenance tasks are completed on schedule using company software.
- Assist in setting up and managing a preventative maintenance program.
- Train, mentor, and support Engineering Technicians, fostering skill development and consistency.
- Provide guidance on mechanical systems, safety protocols, and best practices.
- Help establish and maintain an organized inventory system for mechanical parts and supplies.
- Advise on necessary repairs, replacements, and purchases of equipment.
- Adhere to OSHA guidelines, wearing proper PPE and ensuring team compliance.
- Serve as a first responder to fire alarms, evacuations, and emergency situations.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless operations.
- Uphold company hospitality standards and resolve issues promptly.
- High school diploma or equivalent plus one of the following: 2-year degree from a technical school OR minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in mechanical systems (HVAC, boilers, plumbing, or electrical)
- Proficient in troubleshooting and maintaining: Hydronic systems, Low-voltage controls Residential appliances and VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives)
- Ability to braze and solder plumbing systems
- Lift/carry up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
- Stand/walk for extended periods in varied environmental conditions
- Strong leadership and team training abilities
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Commitment to safety protocols and OSHA compliance
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of resort/hospitality engineering experience
- Current EPA 608 Certification (Type I/II/III or Universal)
- Advanced knowledge of:
- Commercial pool systems
- Snowmelt systems
- Building automation systems
- Previous experience:
- Managing mechanical inventories Using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
- Training junior technicians in a structured environment
- Additional certifications (e.g., CPO, OSHA 10, HVAC-specific licenses)
