We are seeking a highly practical, hands-on leader to drive AI adoption across our business. This role sits at the intersection of Design, Merchandising, Finance, and Operations — acting as the internal change agent who understands how to apply AI tools, coding assistants, and workflow automation to real business problems. The ideal candidate is a daily, power user of AI tools, experienced in managing cross-functional workflows, and comfortable building lightweight solutions in a fast-paced apparel environment.
Responsibilities
- Partner with business leaders across design, merchandising, sourcing, sales, finance, and operations to identify and prioritize high-impact AI use cases
- Roll out practical, embedded AI workflows - not theoretical pilots - that drive measurable improvements in speed, accuracy, and efficiency
- Build lightweight prototypes, scripts, and automations using AI copilots and no/low-code tools to solve specific operational problems
- Train teams on how to effectively use AI tools in their day-to-day work; create simple playbooks, prompt libraries, and workflow documentation
- Act as the internal go-to resource and authority on AI tooling, staying current on the landscape and making smart adoption decisions
- Automate intake, categorization, root-cause analysis, and dispute documentation for chargebacks and deductions; identify patterns across retailers to reduce future exposure
- Streamline accounts receivable and payable workflows, including cash application, reconciliation, invoice processing, and aging visibility
- Reduce manual intervention in EDI and order entry processes by automating error detection, validation, and corrections from order receipt through fulfillment
- Accelerate design iterations using generative AI tools; support print development, colorways, and concept generation; streamline communication between design, merchandising, and production
- Automate recurring reports including customer-driven selling reports; synthesize data across PLM, ERP, and internal systems; improve how insights are generated and shared
- Collaborate with IT to scale solutions that prove out at the prototype stage
- Track and report measurable productivity and accuracy improvements across departments
- 5–10 years of experience in operations, consulting, product management, or a similar hands-on leadership role within fashion, wholesale, or consumer goods
- Heavy, daily user of AI tools - demonstrated practitioner-level fluency, not just conceptual understanding; experience with coding copilots, generative AI platforms, and workflow automation tools
- Strong understanding of operational workflows across finance, merchandising, design, sourcing, and production
- Proven ability to drive change and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority
- Comfortable building lightweight solutions including scripts, workflow automations, and prompt systems — full engineering background not required
- Proficiency in generative AI platforms (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini), AI coding copilots (Claude Code, Cursor), and automation tools (Zapier, Make, n8n)
- Familiarity with ERP and PLM systems, EDI processing workflows, and advanced Excel or Google Sheets
- Basic scripting ability in Python or JavaScript for lightweight automations and prototypes
- Clear, direct communicator with the ability to simplify complex ideas for non-technical audiences
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and prioritize across competing business needs
