Community Educator - AMEND Together

 Job Summary:


Responsible for effective delivery of educational programs to community members in Oneida and Herkimer Counties. 

Position Summary

AMEND Together is a violence prevention program engaging young men and boys as the solution to ending violence against women. This position provides leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that AMEND Together clubs are facilitated and products are developed per approved schedules. The position ensures that all AMEND Together activities are coordinated among internal stakeholders through ongoing communications. This position will routinely coordinate with the AMEND Together leadership team to ensure AMEND Together grant outcomes are met and that the status of grant outcomes are routinely reported to management. The position works closely with community leaders and partners and is responsible for working with internal stakeholders to create and promote AMEND Together. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for the expansion      of AMEND Together Clubs. 
  • Facilitate AMEND Together Clubs. AMEND      Together Clubs are not an alternative to punishment, but an invitation for      anyone identifying as male who wants to be a part of the solution to end      violence against women.
  • Coordinate with the AMEND Together      Leadership team to ensure all AMEND Together grant-related outcomes are      documented and reported routinely to management and funders as required by      grant agreements. 
  • Collaborate with YWCA MV Marketing      staff and AMEND Together leadership team to ensure AMEND Together campaign      materials are aligned to AMEND Together content. 
  • Routinely meet with Ambassadors to      ensure community engagement. 
  • Set up and manage project plans for      AMEND Together product development. 
  • Maintain and develop operational      best practices, standards, and procedures for the development of AMEND      Together products. 
  • Provide review of and feedback for      AMEND Together products.
  • Participate in community events      that are sponsored and supported by the YWCA. 
  • Participate in coalitions that      further our mission and pertain to community education. 
  • Complete necessary reports      documenting services rendered, and activities performed. 
  • Represent the YWCA Mohawk Valley in      a positive and professional manner. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Knowledge:

  • Maintain a level of knowledge that is current      and applicable to performing this position.
  • Attend staff meetings, coalition meetings and      training sessions as required.
Requirements

Requires a minimum of Associate’s Degree in Education, Organizational Development, English or a related field with two years of experience in youth development, facilitation, or management. Experience in domestic violence or sexual assault prevention/training will be a plus.
