WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING (ESSENTIAL DUTIES)…
The Staff Accountant supports the financial health of the agency through timely and accurate processing of Rep Payee and accounts payable. This role is essential in maintaining the integrity of day-to-day financial operations and supporting compliance with regulatory and payer requirements.
- Manage all aspects of the Rep Payee process, including posting social security payments, paying out monthly client bills and maintaining ledgers for all Rep Payee clients.
- Manage all aspects of accounts payable, including vendor invoice review, entry, and timely payment.
- Reconcile AP accounts and prepare adjusting journal entries as needed.
- Maintain organized records for paid invoices.
- Set up a digital filing system for AP.
- Prepare assigned bank reconciliations.
- Assist with preparation of journal entries and monthly financial statements.
- Support audit preparations.
- Assist with year-end audits by providing requested documents and reports.
- General ledger data entry and reconciliation functions as assigned
- Attend training and support cross-functional finance tasks as assigned.
- Assist in special projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Backup to senior accountant for depositing checks via remote deposit capture.
WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU…
- Associate’s degree in accounting, bachelor's degree preferred or relevant experience.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in bookkeeping and AP using accounting software.
- Blackbaud NXT experience a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and confidentiality required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft suite of products.
