Director, Fixture Planning & Production

Department: Retail Operations

Reports To: EVP, Retail Sales

Direct Reports: 2–4

Location: Austin, TX (on-site/hybrid, with regular field travel)

Position Summary

The Director, Fixture Planning & Production leads the end-to-end planning, procurement, and execution of store fixtures, floor plans, and signage across the Go! Retail Group portfolio. This role is the operational backbone of every store opening, closing, remodel, and relocation — owning the fixture lifecycle from design through DC build to field installation. The ideal candidate is a hands-on project manager who blends deep fixture and construction knowledge with sharp financial discipline, and who can be trusted to bring complex, multi-site projects in on time and under budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead production management for all store openings and closings, coordinating timelines, vendors, and field Teams to ensure on-schedule execution.

• Oversee the Team's development and maintenance of store floor plans and layouts, partnering with Retail Operations and Merchandising to optimize space, flow, and brand standards.

• Own fixture procurement and vendor management, including sourcing, negotiating, and managing relationships with fixture manufacturers and suppliers.

• Oversee the Team's build and management of fixture store orders for distribution center pick and deployment, ensuring accuracy and on-time delivery to the field.

• Oversee permit application and approval processes and site inspection coordination across all store projects, ensuring full compliance with local jurisdictions.

• Oversee fixture storage and inventory in the field, optimizing space and minimizing loss, damage, and excess holding costs.

• Oversee storefront sign ordering and installation, coordinating with landlords, vendors, and local code requirements.

• Build and manage project budgets and timelines across all fixture and production work, identifying risks early and course-correcting to protect schedule and cost targets.

• Lead, develop, and mentor a Team of 2–4 direct reports, building organizational capability and bench strength.

• Partner cross-functionally with Construction, Real Estate, Merchandising, and Store Operations to ensure seamless project handoffs, while also working directly with external vendors, contractors, and subcontractors to keep projects aligned and on track.

Required Attributes & Experience

• 7+ years of experience in retail fixture planning, store construction/production, or multi-unit project management, ideally across store openings, remodels, and relocations.

• Strong working knowledge of typical retail fixtures, materials, and installation methods.

• Proven project management acumen, with the ability to run multiple concurrent, multi-site projects against firm timelines.

• Exceptional attention to detail, with a track record of catching issues before they become costly problems.

• Excellent communicator, able to align vendors, field Teams, and senior stakeholders around a shared plan.

• Strong organizational skills and the discipline to manage complex, moving-parts projects without losing the thread.

• Strong problem-solving ability, with a track record of finding practical, innovative solutions to difficult field and vendor challenges.

• Fiscally responsible mindset, with consistent delivery of projects on time and under budget.

• Experience managing direct reports and developing Team capability.

• Willingness to travel to field locations as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Experience with permit processes and site inspection coordination across multiple states/jurisdictions.

• Familiarity with DC pick/pack/deploy processes for store-order fulfillment.

• Experience with licensed retail concepts or multi-format store fleets.
