HR Assistant
Description

This position will assist the HR Manager and perform a variety of clerical and administrative tasks to support administration. The HRA will work with the Safety Coordinator, and all other departments within the facility. Duties include but are not limited to:


· Answer, screen, and transfer phone calls when necessary

· Welcome and direct visitors and clients 

· Maintain filing systems, records, and documentation with discretion

· Provide answers to frequently asked questions regarding policies, benefits, processes, and is knowledgeable as to when to direct to appropriate staff

· Coordinate and conduct job interviews as directed

· Maintain new employee packets, schedules, training, locker assignments, bonuses, etc.

· Conduct and/or assist with the new hire orientation

· Process new employees via onboarding, payroll, and HRIS

· Assist with new benefits and payroll

· Provide reports per management request and/or as needed

· Assist with planning of special events

· Maintain integrity and confidentiality throughout the HR department

· Perform other tasks and roles as assigned

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities


· Ability to follow directions, work independently and work well in a team

· Ability to verbally communicate with other departments

· Able to read and comprehend specifications and use them to accomplish tasks

· Interpret and translate documentation 

· Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn our HRIS  

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

· Excellent time management with a proven ability to meet deadlines

· Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing

· Bilingual (Spanish) preferred


  

Education and Experience

 

· High school diploma or equivalent required

· Associate’s degree in related field preferred

· Two years experience in an administrative role required

· Previous HR experience preferred

· Completion of on-the-job training may be substituted for educational requirements

  


Physical Requirements

 

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer 

· Must be able to lift 30 pounds at times 

· Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s   facilities

· Able to work within the manufacturing plant as needed
