Position Summary

The Senior Consultant, Pricing & Audit is responsible for leading the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of pricing analysis and carrier invoice auditing services for our clients. This role combines deep parcel and pricing expertise with strong analytical and leadership skills to help clients reduce transportation costs, maximize carrier agreements, and improve shipping performance.

The Senior Consultant will partner closely with Sales, Client Success, Operations, Product, and Technology, and serve as the organization's subject matter expert on carrier pricing, contracts, billing practices, and shipping cost optimization.

Key Responsibilities

Pricing Strategy

  • Lead pricing analysis and optimization initiatives for prospective and existing clients.
  • Analyze parcel carrier agreements to identify cost savings opportunities and develop pricing recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain pricing models that support client acquisition, retention, and profitability.
  • Monitor carrier rate changes, fuel surcharges, accessorial fees, and market trends.
  • Provide strategic guidance on carrier pricing, contract structure, and shipping optimization.

Audit Operations

  • Oversee parcel and invoice audit processes to ensure accuracy and maximize client recoveries.
  • Identify billing discrepancies, overcharges, and operational improvement opportunities.
  • Establish quality standards, service levels, and key performance indicators for the audit team.
  • Drive automation and process improvements to increase efficiency and scalability.

Client & Business Partnership

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to enterprise clients regarding transportation spend and carrier pricing strategies.
  • Present pricing analyses, audit findings, and savings recommendations to executive stakeholders.
  • Partner with Sales during new business pursuits and client renewals.
  • Work closely with Client Success and Operations to ensure successful implementation of client recommendations.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Develop dashboards and executive reporting on pricing performance, audit recoveries, client savings, and operational metrics.
  • Analyze large data sets to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Product and Technology teams to enhance pricing tools, reporting capabilities, and audit platforms.

Compliance & Governance

  • Maintain expertise in parcel carrier contracts, tariff changes, pricing structures, and industry regulations.
  • Ensure audit activities comply with client agreements and internal quality standards.
  • Develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures and best practices.


Requirements

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Logistics, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in parcel shipping, transportation pricing, logistics consulting, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of UPS, FedEx, USPS, regional carriers, and parcel pricing methodologies.
  • Advanced analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience analyzing large, complex data sets.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence executive stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Experience negotiating parcel carrier agreements.
  • Experience in transportation consulting or logistics technology.
  • Familiarity with SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or other business intelligence tools.
  • Experience with parcel audit platforms, transportation management systems (TMS), or shipping analytics solutions.


Physical Demands

This role requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, occasional stooping and reaching, and may require lifting up to 25 pounds. Requires a standard range of vision and hearing, with or without reasonable accommodation. The position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

Compensation & Benefits

The Company offers competitive compensation based on an applicant's experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, certifications, and other business considerations. Formal compensation offers will be based on the final candidate's qualifications and experience.

For this position, the expected compensation is between $120,000 and $140,000 annually, prorated based on start date. This position is FLSA-exempt and not eligible for overtime pay.
