We are seeking an experienced Service & Parts Manager who will be responsible for leading all after-sales service and parts operations, ensuring exceptional customer support, technical excellence, inventory control, and operational efficiency. This role oversees service technicians, warranty administration, parts inventory management, and customer satisfaction initiatives. 


The Service & Parts Manager plays a critical role in protecting the brand experience post-delivery while maintaining compliance with safety, environmental, and marine industry standards. This position also oversees proper handling, storage, and disposal of service-related waste materials in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable environmental regulations.


Service Operations Leadership 

  • Manage daily operations of the service department, including repair scheduling, field service coordination, and customer communication. 
  • Supervise service technicians and support staff, assigning work based on skill level, urgency, and warranty requirements. 
  • Ensure all repairs, installations, and service work meet company quality standards and marine industry guidelines (ABYC, NMMA, USCG). 
  • Oversee warranty claim processing, documentation accuracy, and cost control measures. 
  • Serve as escalation point for complex technical or customer service concerns. 
  • Monitor department KPIs including turnaround time, labor efficiency, warranty recovery, and customer satisfaction metrics. 
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality departments to identify root causes of recurring issues and implement corrective actions. 

Parts & Inventory Management 

  • Oversee parts department operations, including procurement, inventory control, and vendor relationships. 
  • Monitor stock levels to ensure optimal inventory availability while minimizing excess carrying costs. 
  • Establish reorder points and ensure timely replenishment of critical components. 
  • Manage parts pricing, margins, and cost control initiatives. 
  • Ensure accurate tracking of parts usage through service management software and ERP systems. 
  • Conduct periodic inventory audits to maintain accuracy and accountability. 

Waste Management & Environmental Compliance 

  • Oversee proper handling, storage, labeling, and disposal of service-related waste materials, including: Used oil and lubricants, Fuel residues, Coolants and antifreeze, Hydraulic fluids, Batteries, Oil filters, Scrap metal and replaced mechanical parts, Packaging waste from parts shipments 
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local environmental regulations. 
  • Maintain spill response procedures and ensure spill kits are available and staff are trained. 
  • Ensure hazardous materials are stored in accordance with SDS guidelines. 
  • Monitor waste disposal vendors and maintain proper documentation of waste removal. 
  • Promote cost-effective material usage and waste reduction initiatives within the department. 

Customer & Dealer Relations 

  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, dealers, and marina partners. 
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting guidance when needed. 
  • Ensure consistent communication regarding service timelines, parts availability, and repair status. 
  • Support field visits and occasional travel to resolve escalated issues. 

Training & Continuous Improvement 

  • Develop service and parts department SOPs and best practices. 
  • Train and mentor staff in technical, customer service, and compliance areas. 
  • Stay current on advancements in marine technology and propulsion systems. 
  • Identify process improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

Location: Onsite, Opa Locka, FL

Employment Type: Full-Time (salary/exempt) 

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, with occasional overtime or weekends or as per the business needs

Requirements
  •  5+ years of experience in marine service management or related field; prior hands-on experience with boats is highly preferred. 
  • Strong technical knowledge of boat systems (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, propulsion, electronics). 
  • Proven leadership and team management skills. 
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and customer service orientation. 
  • Proficiency with service management software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office tools. 
  • Understanding of warranty policies, parts ordering, and service documentation. 
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and hazardous waste handling. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Ability to travel occasionally to customer sites, marinas, or dealer locations as needed. 

WORKING CONDITIONS: 

  • Primarily office-based with regular presence in service bays, warehouses, and boatyards. 
  • Exposure to oils, fuels, chemicals, mechanical equipment, and varying weather conditions. 
  • May involve working aboard vessels or in confined spaces. 
  • Ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds during inspections or field visits. 
  • Required use of PPE when entering service or repair environments. 

This role is based in a boat manufacturing or repair facility. The work environment may involve exposure to chemicals and fumes, requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
