ELP One-To-One Aide
Description

The One-to-One Aide provides individualized support to a designated student, ensuring academic, behavioral, and social success throughout the school day. This role requires the ability to set clear and consistent boundaries while fostering a supportive and respectful relationship with the student. The aide will work closely with classroom teachers, administrators, and the ELP (Extended Learning Program) Coordinator to implement strategies that address the student's needs across academic settings. 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Able to set firm boundaries with the student
  • Knowledge of or willing to learn Google Apps (Docs, Slides, Sheets, Drive)
  • Able to build positive relationships with students and adults
  • Able to collaborate with teachers, administration, and ELP Coordinator
  • Proactively meets student needs
  • Able to understand middle school academic content
  • Able to keep thorough documentation

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • A committed follower of Jesus Christ, demonstrating spiritual maturity and a calling to Christian education, who aligns with WVCS’s mission and Statement of Faith.
  • Faithfully attends and supports a local church whose beliefs align with the school’s statement of faith.
  • Displays strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills within a Christian school setting.
  • Passionate about Christian education and committed to developing students academically, spiritually, and socially.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Level One IVP fingerprint card.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license.
  • Obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification.

Communication & Parent Partnership 

  • Regularly communicate with parents with timely feedback.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, assignments, and classroom activities.
  • Foster positive and respectful interactions with students, parents, and colleagues, modeling Christ-like love and encouragement.
Requirements

Physical Requirements 

  • Able to remain stationary (sitting or standing) 50% of the time. 
  • Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. 
  • At times requires stooping, bending, turning, pushing, pulling, reaching and climbing stairs (2-story). 
  • Use hands, fingers, and arms to reach, grip, and maneuver objects. 
  • Must be able to respond quickly to sounds (fire/security alarms). 
  • Work in noisy and crowded school environments. 
  • Frequent walking throughout the campus.
