Position Overview


Cherry Hills Christian School is seeking a Christ-centered, innovative, and highly collaborative Explore Teacher who is passionate about nurturing advanced learners and equipping students to use their God-given gifts for His glory. The Explore Teacher plays a vital role in identifying, supporting, and challenging students with advanced academic potential through differentiated instruction, enrichment opportunities, and collaborative partnerships with teachers and families. This position provides both push-in classroom support and pull-out extended learning experiences that foster curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, and academic excellence.


Role Responsibilities

• Provide differentiated instruction and enrichment opportunities for identified gifted and talented learners.
• Design and facilitate pull-out extended learning experiences that challenge students beyond grade-level expectations.
• Push into classrooms to support teachers in meeting the needs of advanced learners through differentiation and enrichment strategies.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop and implement instructional plans that extend learning for gifted students.
• Assist in identifying gifted and talented students through observations, assessment data, and collaboration with faculty and families.
• Develop individualized learning opportunities and enrichment pathways based on student strengths, interests, and abilities.
• Utilize research-based instructional practices that promote higher-order thinking, creativity, problem-solving, and inquiry-based learning.
• Foster opportunities for students to engage in independent projects, competitions, leadership experiences, and interdisciplinary learning.
• Monitor student growth and maintain documentation related to gifted programming and student progress.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student growth, enrichment opportunities, and program goals.
• Support faculty through professional collaboration and coaching related to differentiation, gifted education, and advanced learning strategies.
• Employ a variety of instructional strategies and materials that support the whole child: spiritual, mental, physical, social, and emotional.
• Maintain appropriate discipline to ensure a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment.
• Understand and implement all building emergency and safety procedures.
• Build strong, relational connections with students, families, faculty, and staff.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with classroom teachers, learning specialists, counselors, and administrators.
• Uphold and support CHCS's Essentials of Faith, mission, and values.
• Represent Cherry Hills Christian School in a professional and Christ-honoring manner.
• Communicate clearly, accurately, and in a timely manner with parents and leadership.
• Respect confidentiality and uphold professional ethics.
• Other duties as assigned.


Position Details


Position Type: Full-time / Exempt
Hours Per Week: 32 hours/week, Monday – Friday
Salary Range: $45,000–$65,000/year (school year schedule)
Benefits: Vacation, Sick Leave, 403(b), Medical, Dental, Vision

Qualifications


  • A strong and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, evident in personal and professional life.  
  • Agreement with and commitment to CHCS's mission statement, values, and faith statement.  
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.  
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Gifted Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field from an accredited institution.  
  • Master's degree in Gifted Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership, or a related field preferred.  
  • Gifted and Talented endorsement, certification, or related training preferred.  
  • Experience working with gifted, high-achieving, and advanced learners.  
  • Knowledge of differentiated instruction, enrichment models, project-based learning, and advanced academic programming.  
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and administrators.  
  • Current ACSI and/or State Teaching Certification preferred.  
  • Willingness to pursue continued professional development and growth.  
  • Professional attitude and appearance.
