The mission of Atlanta Habitat for Humanity is to create opportunities to transform lives through community-built, sustainable homeownership. Atlanta Habitat will provide the intern an opportunity to build skills in social media engagement, digital content creation, marketing, visual storytelling, and nonprofit communications.
The Digital Creator Intern will support the Marketing and Communications team by helping create engaging content, interacting with online audiences, and assisting with photo, video, graphic design, and event-related projects based on the intern’s strengths and area of expertise.
Internship Information
- Atlanta Habitat will, to the best of its ability, complete university requirements required for the student to receive course credit.
- Internship term will begin in the fall and will run through the end of the semester, with exact dates to be determined based on the student’s school schedule and Atlanta Habitat’s needs.
- Intern will report to the Marketing and Communications team.
Internship Assignments/Projects
- Assist with creating digital content for Atlanta Habitat’s social media platforms, including graphics, photos, videos, reels, stories, and other content based on the intern’s strengths and area of expertise.
- Help monitor social media platforms and engage with Atlanta Habitat’s online community by responding to comments, encouraging conversation, and helping keep followers connected to the organization’s work.
- Research current social media trends and contribute creative ideas for content that aligns with Atlanta Habitat’s mission, brand, campaigns, and storytelling goals.
- Support photo, video, and graphic design projects as needed, including event coverage, volunteer highlights, homeowner stories, campaign content, and other marketing materials.
- Assist the Marketing and Communications team with content planning, organizing digital assets, and preparing materials for social media, email, website, and other communications channels.
- Provide additional support for Atlanta Habitat events, including capturing content, assisting with setup or communications needs, and contributing within the intern’s area of expertise.
- Help identify opportunities to increase audience engagement and strengthen Atlanta Habitat’s digital presence across platforms.
- Currently enrolled student or student enrolling in a university, college, or relevant educational program with a major focus in communications, marketing, visual communications, film, photography, graphic design, or a related field.
- Available to work 15-20 hours per week. Schedule can be flexible, but work must generally fall within office hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- Remote work opportunities may be available, and there may also be opportunities to work on Saturdays for events or content coverage.
- Good working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud products and social media platforms.
- Must have a creative eye for digital content and an interest in social media trends, storytelling, and audience engagement.
