SUMMARY
Plans, implements and directs the operational and strategic activities of Retail Store Operations, Transportation and Logistics and E-Commerce, working in support of Goodwill's Mission, Vision and Values by performing the following duties personally or through divisional managers and/or team members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES are listed below in order of importance, from most important to least important.
Provides direction, supervision and coordination for all aspects of Retail Store, transportation, logistics, sustainability and E-Commerce operations to include planning, organizing, implementing and leading departmental activities and in upholding Standard Operating Procedures.
Develops, executes, and monitors annual and strategic objectives and budgets in coordination with the Chief Operating Officer, Executive Leadership Team, Corporate Leaders, and Business Enterprises Division staff, ensuring measurable operational improvement and market maximization in support of the organization’s mission.
Directs activities for retail stores, transportation and E-Commerce to ensure that net performance provides satisfactory financial support for the organization by managing sales and production, controlling expenses and payroll budgets, handling personnel issues, accounting, merchandising, loss prevention and development of team members.
As a Corporate Leader, serves as an extension of the Executive Leadership Team by championing Goodwill’s Shared Purpose and principles and modeling actionable leadership that drives the consistent execution of a people-first mindset, workplace cultural alignment, and cross-functional collaboration in all business operations.
Ensures the division meets current and future leadership needs by reinforcing a high-retention development-focused workplace culture through the recruitment of strong business leaders to achieve key performance indicators.
Ensures the highest level of customer service both internally and externally throughout the stores, transportation and E-Commerce. Promotes the use of proper channels of communication between the stores and all departments within the organization.
Collaborates with the Director, Retail Support Services and the Goodwill University team to ensure the School of Retail operates in full compliance with established standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Works to maximize employment and training opportunities across Retail, Transportation, and E-Commerce operations, supporting our mission to help team members build pathways to the lives they want to achieve.
Collaborates with Chief Operating Officer and development staff to identify new retail store and donation center sites. Coordinates the openings, closings and remodels of stores in conjunction with the Director of Store Operations.
Directs store layouts, displays and special promotions in coordination with the Director, Store Operations and Director, Merchandising & Purchasing.
Works in conjunction with Marketing to develop DGR Marketing Budgets, plans Pop Up events and provides media appearances as needed.
Serves as a liaison to Marketing on topics such as Round-Up, E-Commerce website and Shopper/Donor demographics.
In partnership with other Divisions, ensures that all retail locations, transportation and equipment meet or exceed safety, maintenance, cleanliness and branding standards.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises the Director, Store Operations, Director, Transportation, Logistics & Sustainability, Director, Merchandising & Purchasing, Ecommerce Manager and the Ecommerce Special Projects Manager. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these departments. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Agency's policies and procedures. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems; and budget development and management.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in Business Administration or related field and ten years of increasingly responsible retail management experience or related business field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have experience that demonstrates leadership and success in the areas of achieving desired results, strategic planning, retail systems development, staff development, financial management and customer focused continuous improvement programs. Must have experience in working successfully with subordinates and peers to achieve consensus and strategic direction. Must demonstrate the ability to gain the respect and confidence of others and act with the highest level of integrity in all situations.

Valid Driver's License (Class C), car insurance and reliable automobile.

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly (more than 1/2 of the day) required to sit. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Regular local travel required.
