PRIMARY DUTY
Associate Therapist works in conjunction with the Primary Therapists on client cases, providing individual therapy to assigned clients as well as conducting group therapy within clinical programming in a residential treatment environment. The Associate Therapist position is considered a professional role that will include ongoing clinical development related to the treatment of co-occurring issues, including complex trauma, in individuals diagnosed with substance use disorders. As we hold a trauma-based model of treating substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions, the Associate Therapist will have the opportunity to continually develop their ability to perform evidence-based and more novel trauma treatment modalities within their role. The Associate Therapist will also be directly involved in coordination of care with referents, aftercare planning, and navigating family systems as they intersect with treatment and current recovery goals. There is a significant amount of support from the clinical team in working with each client as no one therapist manages a caseload solely or in isolation. Our treatment approach involves clinical teams which share responsibility for each client and each team member is focused on different areas of the client’s treatment process to include trauma re-processing (EMDR/natural processing/KAP), family and couples therapy, relapse prevention, self-regulation skill building, recovery-focused yoga, somatic experiencing, and/or internal family systems.
