Primary Trauma and/or Family Therapist
Job Type
Full-time
Description

PRIMARY DUTY

The Primary Therapist is responsible for providing direct client care under the supervision of the Executive Clinical Director. The Primary Therapist is primarily responsible for the delivery of professional services for clinical client care, program development and implementation, staffing and staff development, and representing The Manor to the public. The Primary Therapist at The Manor is an experienced clinician who has developed a capacity to take the lead on complex cases involving substance abuse, addictive family dynamics, and severe trauma. Ongoing internal and external training opportunities are facilitated and supported for primary therapists in the areas of substance abuse treatment, process addictions, complex trauma, and co-occurring disorders.

The Manor holds a trauma-based model of treating substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions. The Primary Therapist is developed in both traditional treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Structural Family Therapy as well as at least one third wave modality such as EMDR, Brainspotting, or Somatic Experiencing. There is a significant amount of support from the clinical team in working with each client as no one therapist manages a caseload solely or in isolation. Our treatment approach involves clinical teams which share responsibility for each client and each team member is focused on different areas of the client’s treatment process to include trauma re-processing (EMDR/natural processing/KAP), family and couples therapy, relapse prevention, self-regulation skill building, recovery-focused yoga, somatic experiencing, and/or internal family systems.
