Senior Accounting Analyst

Freeman Boatworks, recognized around the world for quality, performance, and comfort, is seeking a Senior Accounting Analyst to join our growing Finance team. This position is ideal for an accounting or finance professional with 2–5 years of experience who is looking to leverage a strong accounting foundation while expanding into financial analysis, forecasting, and operational decision support.


Working closely with Accounting, Sales, Operations, and executive leadership, you'll play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records while helping drive profitability analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making across multiple business segments. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to both corporate accounting and FP&A within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities


Accounting & Financial Operations

  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules as part of the monthly close process
  • Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and bank reconciliations
  • Maintain the general ledger and support accurate financial reporting
  • Assist with inventory accounting, manufacturing cost accounting, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls

Financial Analysis & Business Support

  • Prepare profitability estimates for production builds and customer change orders
  • Analyze gross margins, manufacturing costs, and budget versus actual performance
  • Partner with Sales and Operations to improve profitability and support business decisions
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for executive leadership
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis to support strategic initiatives and operational improvements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 2–5 years of accounting, finance, or public accounting experience (manufacturing experience is a plus)
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
  • Experience with month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including lookup functions, pivot tables, and data analysis
  • Experience with Power Query, ERP systems, or financial modeling is a plus
  • Highly organized with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
