POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for a Part-Time Patient Services Representative (PSR) who would be responsible for greeting and checking in patients, scheduling appointments and following through with the checkout process. The PSR will also assist with office duties as needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet patients
- Check in patients and assist with individual concerns, as they arise
- Collect appropriate information including insurance overview, co-pay, deductible and open balances
- Performs administrative tasks and must be cross trained on medical assistant responsibilities to provide support as needed
- Other tasks, as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS/ EDUCATION/ CRITICAL SKILLS
- 1-2 years of experience working in a professional medical office environment responsible for the front desk, or similar role.
- Minimum of high-school diploma or equivalent.
- The ability to handle challenging situations with extreme patience and professionalism.
- Effective time management and organizational skills including prioritizing daily tasks.
- Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills to interact with patients, physicians, coworkers, and vendors in a professional, courteous manner.
- Must be committed and reliable reporting to work on time as scheduled to ensure business needs are met.
- Experience working in a team environment and understands the commitment to be collaborative.
- Must be able to ensure accurate, timely completion of assigned tasks.
- PC Proficient with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Understands additional tasks may be assigned to meet business needs.
