Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and   detail-oriented Front Desk / Medical Assistant   to join our psychiatry practice. This role supports both front office operations and clinical workflows to help deliver high-quality mental health care. The ideal candidate will provide excellent patient service, assist providers with patient care activities, maintain accurate records, and protect patient confidentiality at all times.


Key Responsibilities:


Clinical Support:

  • Assist psychiatrists, nurses, and other clinical staff with patient assessments, visit preparation, and care coordination.
  • Prepare patients for appointments, including obtaining vital signs, updating medical histories, and documenting relevant information accurately.

Administrative   Duties:

  • Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments while maintaining an organized appointment calendar.
  • Answer phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and route messages promptly and professionally.
  • Process patient information and maintain accurate medical records in compliance with   HIPAA and practice   policies.
  • Support insurance verification, prior authorizations, billing inquiries, and other   administrative tasks as needed.

Front   Desk and Patient Service:

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, assist with check-in and check-out, and ensure   a positive patient experience.
  • Verify demographic and insurance information, collect required forms, and   communicate next steps clearly to patients.

Patient   Care:

  • Provide compassionate support to patients and their families during visits.
  • Provide general information about office procedures, treatment plan follow-up, medication refill processes, and available mental health resources within scope of role.
  • Assist with referrals, records requests, and coordination with outside providers or agencies as directed.

Team   Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with providers and administrative staff to support efficient patient flow and continuity of care.
  • Participate in team meetings, follow established protocols, and contribute ideas for improving practice operations.


Requirements

 Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant certification preferred.
  • Previous experience in a psychiatric, behavioral health, medical office, or patient-facing healthcare setting preferred.
  • Medical   Assistant certification strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record systems, scheduling software, and standard office technology.

Salary Description
$20-23 per hour
