Description


Job Purpose:

To assemble and route various types of product and printed materials according to the company and/or customer standards.

Essential Functions:

  1. Verifies and records information for outgoing shipments; assembles various products to ready them for shipping by placing in proper container; compares identifying information, counts and weighs items against order information; assembles cardboard containers, stamps, glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto containers; pastes weight, shipping charges and affixes postage. 
  2. Verifies and records incoming shipments; compares identifying information, counts and weights of items of incoming shipments to verify against bills of lading, requisitions, orders and other records.
  3. Routes items to proper personnel from receiving which may require the use of a hand-truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving to storage or work area.
  4. Requisitions and stores materials to maintain stock.
  5. Completes the appropriate routing sheet and inputs data entry information in a timely manner.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

  1. Three (3) to six (6) months of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Physical:

  1. Must be able to stand, walk, sit, and use arms/hands to reach, finger, handle or feel, kneel or crouch, talk and hear for 8 hours or more per day.
  2. Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; and lift or move up to 100 pounds.
  3. Must have close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus to work.
  4. Employees will be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, moderate noise levels, and occasionally outside weather conditions.
  5. Employees will be required to wear hearing protection, safety glasses and foot protection.

Mental:

  1. Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple written and verbal instructions. 
  2. Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  3. Must be able to perform mathematical skills such as: addition, subtractions, multiplication, and division of all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; and ability to compute rate, ratio, interest, commissions, discounts, proportions and percent.
  4. Must have the ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Salary Description
$16.00-$18.00
