Description
Job Purpose:
To assemble and route various types of product and printed materials according to the company and/or customer standards.
Essential Functions:
- Verifies and records information for outgoing shipments; assembles various products to ready them for shipping by placing in proper container; compares identifying information, counts and weighs items against order information; assembles cardboard containers, stamps, glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto containers; pastes weight, shipping charges and affixes postage.
- Verifies and records incoming shipments; compares identifying information, counts and weights of items of incoming shipments to verify against bills of lading, requisitions, orders and other records.
- Routes items to proper personnel from receiving which may require the use of a hand-truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving to storage or work area.
- Requisitions and stores materials to maintain stock.
- Completes the appropriate routing sheet and inputs data entry information in a timely manner.
Additional Responsibilities:

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
- Three (3) to six (6) months of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Physical:
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, and use arms/hands to reach, finger, handle or feel, kneel or crouch, talk and hear for 8 hours or more per day.
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; and lift or move up to 100 pounds.
- Must have close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus to work.
- Employees will be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, moderate noise levels, and occasionally outside weather conditions.
- Employees will be required to wear hearing protection, safety glasses and foot protection.
Mental:
- Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple written and verbal instructions.
- Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Must be able to perform mathematical skills such as: addition, subtractions, multiplication, and division of all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; and ability to compute rate, ratio, interest, commissions, discounts, proportions and percent.
- Must have the ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
