Role Summary:

The QA Inspector is responsible for performing incoming, first article, in-process, and final inspections of precision-machined components, electromechanical subassemblies, and finished actuators. This role requires expertise in inspecting close-tolerance parts (±.001"), interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T requirements, and using a wide range of precision measuring equipment, including CMMs, micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, profilometers, hardness testers, and surface plate inspection tools. The position involves setting up, operating, and programming coordinate measuring machines, documenting inspection results, and generating discrepant material reports as required.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform incoming, first article, in process, and final inspection of machined parts and electromechanical subassemblies.
  • Perform final inspection of actuators.
  • Set up and operate both automatic and manual coordinate measuring machines.
  • Program coordinate measuring machines for new parts.
  • Complete discrepant material reports as needed.
Requirements

Professional and Personal Requirements:

  • 5-10 Years experience inspecting a wide variety of machined parts measuring tolerances in the +/-.001” range
  • Experience setting up and operating programmable and manual CMM’s
  • CMM programming experience using PC-DMIS is a plus
  • Experience using micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, gauge pins, dial indicators, optical comparator, profilometers, and hardness testers
  • Ability to perform manual inspections utilizing surface plates and height gages
  • Ability to interpret GD&T controls
  • Proficient in general shop mathematics
  • Strong computer, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma 
  • 2 year technical degree in electronics with 15+ years of work related experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods
  • Regular exposure to manufacturing areas requiring personal protective equipment

Work Environment:

  • Shop environment with regular exposure to manufacturing areas
  • Speak and listen to others in person and over the phone
  • Use keyboard and read from computer screen and reports
  • Predictable and reliable attendance required
  • Position requires 40 hours/5 days a week in-person at the Company’s facility
