Job Summary

This position is responsible for the safe transport of clients, delivery of meals-bulk and home-delivered meals. This position is also responsible for the maintenance of assigned vehicle. 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Be responsible for operating the vehicle in a safe manner. 
• Be responsible for keeping vehicle clean and maintained. Report any problems to Supervisor. 
• Be responsible for daily vehicle safety checks.
• Assist Clients on and off the vehicle, with parcels and provide escort service when needed.
• Follow designated routes.
• Keep transportation records as required by the program.
• Maintain Client Confidentiality.
• Be responsible for delivering bulk meals to other centers and Home Delivered meals to clients on assigned route.
• Be responsible for checking and recording the temperature once a week on the last meal delivered on route.
• Assist in kitchen as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor and Management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Must have good corrected hearing and vision.
• Must have dexterous use of both hands.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be courteous at all times.
• Must pass Non-DOT physical every two years.
• Must acquire certification in First Aid within 6 months of hire date.
• Must complete Defensive Driver’s Course certification or equivalent within 6 months of hire date.
• Must be able to pass the state/federal required background check.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent. Experience transporting clients helpful.
