Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician provides maintenance technical expertise to support manufacturing equipment, facility systems, and preventive maintenance programs to keep operations running safely and efficiently.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Equipment Maintenance and Repair:

  • Perform a variety of mechanical duties including dismantling, relocating, welding, repairing, and installing facility and production equipment such as shafts, gears, pulleys, clutches, hoists, conveyors, and power presses. 
  • Troubleshoot, evaluate, disassemble, reassemble, overhaul, and rebuild mechanical equipment according to drawings and specifications and replace worn or broken parts as required.

2. Plant support, preventive maintenance, and teamwork:

  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records, including preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards within the workplace.
  • Communicate and collaborate with external contractors to support equipment repairs, preventive maintenance, and facility projects.
  • Assist with repairs, upgrades, and plant maintenance projects using troubleshooting and repair techniques.

Non-essential Responsibilities: 

  • Performs other duties as directed. 
  • Supports broader facility, equipment, and preventive maintenance objectives as needed.

Skills and Abilities:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent plus 3 years of mechanical trade experience preferred. Confined Space and Lock Out Tag Out training noted in the source description. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of maintenance or related experience preferred. Working knowledge of stamping equipment and machinery; deep draw stamping and preventive maintenance system experience preferred. 
  • Ability to interpret work instructions, safety procedures, blueprints, schematics, and technical instructions; forklift operation; strong mechanical aptitude involving electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. 
  • Self-motivated, safety-conscious, able to solve problems, use tools effectively, and meet physical demands including lifting and moving up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment:

This position involves working in a manufacturing environment that is adjacent to the shop work environment. The employee must be aware of potential hazards, including, but not limited to, working in close proximity to moving mechanical parts, operating vehicles, exposure to electrical current, high temperatures, and chemicals. It's important to maintain a high level of alertness and caution while performing tasks in this work environment. 

Salary Description
$26/hr. - $38/hr.
