Position Summary
The Inventory Specialist is an hourly, hands-on role responsible for performing daily inventory transactions, maintaining accurate inventory records, and supporting production planning activities at our Reno, NV plant. This position works closely with warehouse and production teams to ensure materials are available, inventory data is accurate, and operational needs are met.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Transactions & Accuracy
Perform daily inventory transactions including receiving, issuing, transferring, and adjusting inventory
Enter and maintain accurate inventory data in the ERP/WMS system
Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with physical inventory counts
Investigate inventory discrepancies and work with operations teams to resolve variances
Maintain proper documentation in accordance with inventory control procedures
Production & Material Support
Support production schedules by ensuring required materials are available and staged as needed
Communicate material shortages, inventory risks, or discrepancies to supervisors and planning teams
Assist with monitoring inventory levels to avoid stockouts, overages, or obsolete material
Help align inventory activity with production and shipping needs
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with warehouse, production, and purchasing teams to ensure smooth material flow
Serve as a point of contact for inventory-related questions on the plant floor
Escalate inventory issues and concerns to leadership in a timely manner
Continuous Improvement & Reporting
Assist with inventory reporting, including accuracy and variance tracking
Identify opportunities to improve inventory processes, organization, and accuracy
Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures
Required Qualifications
2–5 years of experience in inventory control, materials, warehouse, or manufacturing operations
Hands-on experience performing inventory transactions and cycle counts
Familiarity with ERP or inventory management systems
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and manage routine priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a manufacturing or plant environment
Exposure to production scheduling or material planning
Knowledge of basic lean or continuous improvement concepts
Physical & Work Environment
Manufacturing and warehouse environment
Requires standing, walking, bending, and occasional lifting
Must be able to work scheduled shifts and occasional overtime as needed
