JOB SUMMARY

The Talent Acquisition Manager plays a critical, hands-on role in attracting, engaging, and hiring top talent for Pero Family Farms across operations, corporate, distribution, and field-based roles. This position is a senior-level individual contributor focused on full-cycle recruiting, workforce planning support, talent systems optimization, and candidate experience excellence. This role partners closely with hiring leaders to understand business needs, represent the Pero Family Farms culture in the market, and deliver high-quality talent that supports our mission of feeding families with fresh, healthy produce while honoring our people-first values. In addition, this role serves as a culture ambassador by planning and executing monthly employee engagement events that strengthen connection, morale, and retention.

Requirements

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Support

  • Own full-cycle recruitment for hourly, salaried, and leadership roles across operations, corporate, and supply chain functions
  • Partner with hiring managers to develop clear job requirements, sourcing strategies, and realistic hiring timelines
  • Proactively source talent using Job Boards, referrals, industry networks, community partnerships, and incoming applications leveraged through the applicant tracking system (ATS)
  • Screen, interview, and assess candidates for skill, cultural alignment, and long-term potential within Pero Family Farms
  • Coordinate interviews, manage candidate communication, and deliver a best-in-class candidate experience enabled through effective use of recruiting systems and automation tools
  • Employer Branding & Community Engagement
  • Serve as a brand ambassador for Pero Family Farms in the talent market, communicating our mission, values, and family-owned culture
  • Support recruitment marketing initiatives, job postings, career fairs, partnerships, and community outreach events
  • Build and maintain strong pipelines for high-volume and hard-to-fill roles within food manufacturing and agriculture using data-driven sourcing and system reporting.


Hiring Process & Compliance

  • Ensure all recruiting activities align with company policies, employment law, and EEO/OFCCP requirements set forth by Human Resources
  • Maintain accurate, compliant, and up-to-date documentation within the ATS and HRIS platforms
  • Support onboarding coordination to ensure a smooth transition from candidate to employee across all systems


Employee Engagement & Culture Initiatives

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute monthly employee engagement events aligned with Pero Family Farms’ mission, vision, and values
  • Develop and manage an annual employee engagement calendar including recognition events, celebrations, wellness initiatives, and culture-building activities
  • Partner with HR leadership and site leaders to design engagement initiatives that support retention, morale, and employee connection
  • Coordinate event logistics including vendors, budgets, communications, and on-site execution
  • Support employee recognition programs, milestone celebrations, and internal engagement communications
  • Collect employee feedback and recommend improvements to enhance engagement and culture
  • Serve as a visible culture ambassador across the organization


Onboarding & New Hire Integration

  • Coordinate and support the end-to-end onboarding process for new hires to ensure a smooth, welcoming transition into Pero Family Farms
  • Partner with HR, hiring managers, and department leaders to align start dates, schedules, and onboarding plans
  • Ensure all pre-employment requirements are completed accurately and on time, including offer letters, background checks, and onboarding documentation
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new hires prior to their first day, reinforcing engagement and setting expectations
  • Support first-day orientation logistics, introductions, and initial connection to company culture and values
  • Ensure new hires are properly entered into HRIS and applicant tracking systems with complete and accurate records
  • Gather feedback from new hires and hiring managers to continuously improve the onboarding experience
  • Reinforce Pero Family Farms’ mission, values, safety standards, and people-first culture throughout the onboarding process


Continuous Improvement & Reporting

  • Track recruiting metrics including time-to-fill, quality of hire, source effectiveness, and pipeline health using ATS and HRIS reporting tools
  • Identify opportunities to improve recruiting processes, candidate experience, and system utilization through automation, integration, or new technology adoption
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert on recruiting systems, recommending enhancements, efficiencies, and new talent acquisition technologies as the business scales
  • Partner with HR leadership to support workforce planning and seasonal hiring strategy through data and system insights


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or related field preferred
  • 7+ years of corporate recruiting experience within manufacturing, food production, agriculture, distribution, transportation, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or industrial environments. 
  • Experience recruiting professional, corporate, operations, manufacturing, logistics, and leadership positions simultaneously.
  • Highly skilled in using, leveraging, and maximizing ATS and HRIS platforms; experience recommending, implementing, or adopting new recruiting technologies strongly preferred. 
  • Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed Resume, CRM platforms, recruitment marketing tools, and AI-enabled sourcing technologies. 


Soft Skills

  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with candidates, hiring managers, and stakeholders.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and manage a team of recruiters.
  • Strategic Thinking: Capability to develop and implement hiring strategies aligned with the company’s goals.
  • Negotiation and Influencing Skills: Especially important when making offers and working with senior stakeholders.


Certifications (Optional but Beneficial)

  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP (Society for Human Resource Management)
  • PHR or SPHR (Professional in Human Resources or Senior Professional in Human Resources)
  • Talent Acquisition Specialty Credential by HRCI
  • LinkedIn Certified Professional – Recruiter


Knowledge of Employment Law

  • Familiarity with labor laws, diversity and inclusion best practices, and fair hiring practices.


WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Primarily office-based role with work performed at a desk using computers, phones, and other office equipment.
  • Fast-paced environment requiring management of multiple recruitment projects, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Frequent interaction with hiring managers, leadership, candidates, and cross-functional teams.
  • May involve occasional travel for job fairs, campus recruiting events, or meetings with remote locations.
  • Work may include attending or coordinating employee engagement events, orientations, or onboarding sessions.
  • Ability to operate within Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and HRIS on a daily basis.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while performing computer-based tasks, including data entry, candidate tracking, and report generation.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, emailing, and interacting with office technology.
  • Visual ability to review resumes, reports, and other documents for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting or carrying of office materials or event supplies (generally light, under 15 lbs).
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and via video conferencing.
