HPCI is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as Clinical Educator. This is a position designed to strengthen our clinical education infrastructure as we continue to grow, and regulatory requirements continue to change. The Clinical Educator will play a central role in onboarding new clinical staff, maintaining ongoing education, and supporting quality improvement making a direct and lasting impact on the care we deliver to patients and families.
Responsibilities:
• Lead structured 8–12 week orientation for newly hired RNs and LPNs, including competency assessment and preceptor coordination
• Serve as a certified CPR/BLS instructor; coordinate and track all staff certification and recertification
• Conduct monthly supervisory field visits to observe clinical practice and provide real-time coaching
• Develop and deliver monthly in-service education calendar covering mandatory and best-practice topics
• Design and implement staff education in response to plan of corrections, survey findings, and QAPI initiatives
• Function as clinical resource and mentor for nursing staff, supervisors, and interdisciplinary team members
Qualifications:
• Current, unencumbered RN license in New York State — required
• Minimum 3 years clinical experience; at least 2 years in hospice, palliative care, or home health — required
• Current BLS/CPR certification; AHA Instructor certification required within 90 days of hire
• Demonstrated experience in clinical teaching, precepting, or staff development
• Valid NYS driver's license and ability to travel throughout HPCI catchment areas
• BSN preferred
