Safehome is a nonprofit organization and domestic violence shelter. Our core purpose is to provide a healing atmosphere where survivors of domestic violence can gain inner strength, explore options, and be empowered to live a life free of abuse.
We are expanding our team and seeking an Impact and Growth Officer to join our development department. You will help drive growth in our annual giving and sponsorship programs and work closely with the CEO and Senior Director of Development. This is a relationship-forward role requiring strong public presence, excellent communication, and comfort with public speaking and presentations.
The ideal candidate does not shy away from asking for financial support, is a proactive fundraiser who enjoys meeting new people, telling compelling stories, and turning relationships into meaningful support for Safehome’s mission.
What this position is
- Boots on the ground relationship builder and people connector.
- Lead donor solicitation efforts, including making direct asks for financial support.
- Build authentic, face-to-face connections and participate in other relationship-building activities to secure sponsorships and annual gifts.
- Participate in in-person networking events and provide Safehome representation at community events, chamber meetings and volunteer activities.
- Deliver presentations to diverse audiences, including corporate groups, media outlets, and public events; conduct on-site tours and participate in radio and television interviews.
- Building strong internal relationships with program staff to stay current on Safehome’s work and bring impact stories to donors.
What this position isn’t
- This is not a marketing position and will not manage marketing or branding campaigns.
- This position is not a social media management role and will not focus on digital campaigns or content creation.
- This position will not create email or direct mail campaigns and is not responsible for direct mail strategy or execution.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2+ years of successful fundraising experience, including a proven record of securing gifts/sponsorships or comparable revenue generation.
- Fundraising experience is required and previous financial experience (budgeting, reporting, analysis, or related work) is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to listen well and engage, inspire, and persuade.
- Comfort with public speaking and developing presentations.
- Strong relationship-building skills with a diverse range of constituents and a commitment to maintaining high-quality donor stewardship.
- Ability to manage multiple complex priorities and meet deadlines.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
Additional Requirements / Working Conditions
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
- Must be willing to work occasional nights and weekends.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
