Logistics Coordinator

SUMMARY:

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day transportation, routing, scheduling, and fleet activities to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time delivery of products to customers. This position directly supervises drivers and logistics personnel, coordinates resources to support operational demands, assists with fleet management activities, and serves as the primary point of contact for transportation-related issues. The Logistics Coordinator works closely with Operations, Maintenance, Customer Service, and Management to improve productivity, service levels, fleet utilization, and safety performance while maintaining a positive and accountable work environment. They may also provide additional support to management during business audits or another busy time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs the following responsibilities in accordance with VoidForm policies and procedures, work rules, expectations, and behavior standards:

  •  Supervises daily routing, dispatch, and scheduling activities to ensure efficient use of equipment, drivers, and transportation resources.
  •  Coordinates driver assignments and monitors delivery schedules to ensure on-time service to customers.
  •  Communicates with customers regarding delivery schedules, transportation issues, service concerns, and delivery updates.
  •  Assists in developing route efficiencies to maximize fleet utilization, reduce costs, and improve customer service.
  •  Monitors daily transportation activities and adjusts schedules as needed to address operational disruptions.
  •  Provides direct supervision, coaching, and performance feedback to drivers and logistics personnel.
  •  Ensures drivers comply with company policies, DOT regulations, and safety standards.
  •  Assists with onboarding and training new drivers and logistics team members.
  •  Monitors driver productivity, attendance, hours worked, and overall performance.
  •  Assists in monitoring KPIs related to productivity, service, safety, fleet utilization, and operational effectiveness.
  •  Coordinates vehicle maintenance schedules with maintenance personnel to minimize downtime.
  •  Tracks and maintains transportation records, driver logs, fuel usage, maintenance records, and related documentation.
  •  Prepares shipping tickets, transportation documentation, reports, and other logistics-related records as required.
  •  Assists in monitoring operating costs, including fuel consumption and transportation expenses.
  •  Investigates delivery issues and assists in implementing corrective actions and process improvements.
  •  Promotes and maintains a positive work environment.
  •  Serves as a backup for logistics administrative functions and assists department personnel when required.
  •  Supports business audits, special projects, and departmental initiatives as assigned.
  •  Contributes to a safe, accident-free workplace by following all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and transportation compliance requirements.
  •  Performs other duties as assigned based on business needs.
Requirements

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Training, and Experience Required)

  •  Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
  •  Required: 3 years of experience in logistics, transportation, dispatch, fleet operations, or supervisory roles.
  •  Preferred: Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and transportation safety requirements.
  •  Preferred: 2 years of college

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  •  Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies and potential issues.
  •  Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team.
  •  Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented, high-noise manufacturing environment.
  •  Ability to read and interpret production work orders, as well as communications skills.
  •  Ability to manage time effectively to meet objectives.
  •  Maintain professionalism and courtesy in all interactions; comply with VoidForm’s behavior standards and values.
  •  Strong understanding of transportation operations, routing, scheduling, and fleet coordination.
  •  Proficient in Microsoft Office and transportation management systems.
