Continental Breakfast Attendant

The Breakfast Attendant at Smithfield Station is responsible for preparing and presenting the hotel's complimentary continental breakfast while providing exceptional guest service in a warm, welcoming, and professional manner. This position ensures the breakfast area is clean, organized, well-stocked, and inviting throughout service while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hospitality.


Essential Functions:

  • Prepare and cook breakfast items according to established recipes and presentation standards. 
  • Set up, maintain, and replenish the complimentary continental breakfast buffet to ensure an attractive, abundant, and organized presentation. 
  • Stock serving dishes, utensils, cups, condiments, beverages, and disposable service items throughout breakfast service. 
  • Monitor food quality, freshness, temperatures, and product levels to ensure guest satisfaction. 
  • Clear and sanitize tables, wipe spills, remove trash, and maintain a clean dining area throughout service. 
  • Wash dishes, serving equipment, and kitchen utensils as needed. 
  • Clean and sanitize the breakfast area and kitchen following breakfast service. 
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations. 
  • Provide friendly, attentive, and courteous service to every guest, creating a welcoming atmosphere. 
  • Answer guest questions regarding breakfast offerings and hotel amenities. 
  • Work collaboratively with front desk, housekeeping, and hotel management to ensure an exceptional guest experience. 
  • Assist with light cleaning of hotel public areas when breakfast service concludes. 
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements

 Minimum Qualifications

  • Positive attitude with a strong commitment to guest service. 
  • Willingness to learn and work as part of a team. 
  • Ability to work early morning shifts beginning at 4:00 a.m., including weekends and holidays. 
  • Basic English verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to obtain a Food Handler Certification if required. 
  • Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail. 
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. 
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous hotel, hospitality, or restaurant experience. 
  • Prior breakfast attendant or food and beverage experience. 
  • Experience preparing buffet or continental breakfast service. 
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures. 

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and lift throughout the shift. 
  • Ability to safely operate standard kitchen equipment.
