Description
The Compliance Specialist collaborates across departments to help identify compliance risks, support corrective actions, and promote a culture of compliance throughout the organization. Responsible for assisting the Compliance Officer with compliance monitoring, reporting, testing, and internal reviews to help ensure adherence to applicable banking laws, regulations, and bank policies. Provides secondary support and backup assistance for selected BSA functions as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential duties and responsibilities are intended to describe those functions that are essential to the performance of this position.
- Work with Compliance Officer and BSA Officer to implement regulatory policies, procedures, and quality control to ensure compliance with applicable banking regulations and/or regulatory requirements including federal and/or state regulations as applicable.
- Occasional regulatory training for staff with respect to job-related functions or as a response to audit findings.
- Assist the Compliance Officer and BSA Officer in researching and addressing compliance and BSA-related questions, issues, and resolutions.
- Assist with distributing information, scheduling, preparing minutes from monthly committee meetings.
- Assist in coordinating audit materials for third-party audits and/or exams.
- Attend internal and external meetings or conferences as needed.
- Travel to other branches as needed to conduct training and/or ensure standardization process between branches.
- Conduct targeted compliance, loan, deposit, and BSA reviews as assigned and prepare initial observations and reports for management review.
- Support the BSA Officer as a backup for daily functions.
- Additional compliance program responsibilities may be assigned as experience and expertise develop, including support or coordination of the Complaint Program, Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) Program, FACT Act/Identity Theft Program and other compliance initiatives.

- As a part of the overall team of bank employees, this position may be requested to assist in the support of other bank activities.

Salary Description
$23-28/ hr depending on experience
