Position Overview:

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing mechanical and electrical equipment to ensure the safe and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment. This role performs preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery while minimizing downtime and supporting continuous production operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive maintenance including cleaning, lubricating, inspecting, testing, and servicing production equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical equipment failures and determine effective repair solutions
  • Repair and maintain machinery including motors, conveyors, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, presses, welding equipment, slitters, mat welders, hoists, cranes, forklifts, and other production equipment
  • Adjust, align, and calibrate automated manufacturing equipment to maintain optimal performance
  • Inspect drives, motors, belts, bearings, filters, and fluid systems, completing routine maintenance activities
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic PLC-related issues to minimize equipment downtime
  • Install, modify, and assist with commissioning new machinery and production equipment
  • Operate plant equipment, including saws, forklifts, and other machinery as required to complete maintenance work
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate equipment issues to supervisors
  • Obtain repair parts, materials, and supplies necessary to complete maintenance activities
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3–5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Experience troubleshooting both mechanical and electrical systems
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Basic knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment and electrical troubleshooting preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, repair manuals, schematics, and technical documents
  • Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and electronic testing equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple maintenance tasks
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Willingness to work various shifts, overtime, and respond to emergency maintenance needs as required
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and work in an industrial manufacturing environment
