Full-Time Physician Assistant
• 32–40 hours/week
• Variable weekday, weekend, and holiday shifts
• No overnight call
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages presenting with acute illnesses and injuries
• Obtain comprehensive histories and physical examinations
• Order and interpret laboratory studies, X-rays, ECGs, and other diagnostics
• Develop evidence-based treatment plans with the supervising physician
• Perform urgent care procedures including laceration repair, I&D;, splinting, wound care, nail procedures, and foreign body removal
• Manage orthopedic injuries and urgent medical conditions
• Recognize patients requiring Emergency Department transfer
• Document encounters in the EMR
• Educate patients and families
• Collaborate with physicians and staff
Qualifications
• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
• Current California Physician Assistant License (or eligible before start date)
• NCCPA Certification
• DEA Registration (or eligible)
• Current BLS Certification
• Excellent clinical judgment and communication skills
• Professional, dependable, compassionate, and team-oriented
Preferred Qualifications
• One or more years of Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care experience preferred
• Motivated new graduates with outstanding clinical rotations and excellent references are encouraged to apply
• Experience performing urgent care procedures is highly desirable
• Experience evaluating musculoskeletal injuries, X-rays, and ECGs is a plus
