Description

POSITION SUMMARY

This position serves as a strategic and operational Human Resources partner supporting the YMCA of Central Florida's mission, people, and organizational priorities. This role leads and supports talent acquisition, learning and development, performance management, succession planning, HR technology, and workforce analytics while providing broad generalist support across the employee lifecycle. The position partners with front line staff and leaders across the Association's multiple locations and counties to enhance the Team Member experience, strengthen organizational effectiveness, and advance a people-centered culture aligned with YMCA values and Trust Tenets. As a key member of the HR team, this role demonstrates an Association-first mindset and may serve as a team leader in the absence of the Director of Human Resources.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as a strategic partner to the Human Resources leadership team in advancing talent management, organizational effectiveness, and workforce strategies across the Association. 
  • Lead and support full-cycle recruitment activities from requisition through onboarding to ensure an exceptional candidate, hiring manager, and onboarding experience. 
  • Support and administer performance management processes, including goal setting, evaluations, talent reviews, and development planning. 
  • Partner with leadership to facilitate succession planning, identify talent pipelines, and support leadership development initiatives. 
  • Serve as the administrator and workflows optimization expert for all Y Association HR technology (Paylocity modules, YUSA Learning Hub, Predictive Index (PI) platform).  
  • Develop, facilitate, and support training related to interviewing, legal hiring practices, supervisory skills, talent management, and HR best practices. 
  • Lead the development, maintenance, tracking, and periodic review of job descriptions to ensure alignment with operational needs, organizational structure, and evolving business priorities. 
  • Partner with leadership and Human Resources to design and maintain supplemental pay practices, position structures, and workforce documentation. 
  • Oversee workforce planning, position control, and organization chart maintenance. Support leadership with strategic staffing operational recommendations 
  • Collect, analyze & report all HR recruitment metrics to support strategic decision-making 
  • Build collaborative relationships across centers, departments, and counties to promote consistency, share best practices, and advance Association goals. 
  • Provide broad Human Resources support across functional areas and serve as a strategic partner to leaders on talent-related matters. 
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in supporting a broad range of Human Resources functions and organizational priorities in a dynamic nonprofit environment. 
  • May lead or participate in cross-functional teams, special projects, and Association-wide initiatives in support of organizational priorities. 
  • Maintain an Association-first mindset while supporting leaders and staff across the Association's locations and communities. 
  • Serve as a departmental leader and may represent the Human Resources function in the absence of the Director of Human Resources. 
  • All other duties as assigned by management  
Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience required, including experience in talent acquisition, learning and development, and/or talent management.
  • Demonstrated experience administering HRIS and talent acquisition systems; experience with Paylocity preferred. 
  • Experience developing and facilitating training programs for managers and staff. 
  • Experience utilizing HR metrics, reporting, and workforce analytics to support business decisions. 
  • Experience supporting compensation administration, organizational design, and workforce planning preferred. 
  • Experience with talent assessment tools, including Predictive Index (PI), preferred. 
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships, influence leaders, and effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment is essential. 
  • Strong communication, facilitation, project management, and analytical skills.

  • Ability to travel locally throughout the Association's service area as needed. 


Work Environment & physical demands

  1. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, which may include weekends and holidays as needed. 
  2. Must be willing to work an on-call schedule rotation as required. 
  3. Must be willing to travel within Central Florida. Must have a valid Driver license. The employee is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles. 
  4. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.  
  5. The physical activities of this position include: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, and repetitive motions. Talking is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels, with or without correction. 
  6. Required to sit or stand for extended periods of time while demonstrating manual dexterity in order to accurately work on the phone, computer keyboard, and other equipment.  
  7. The employee must be able to perform light work: exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. 
  8. The employee is required to have close visual acuity, along with the visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned, preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer screen, extensive reading, or to make general observations of facilities or structures.  
  9. Must possess auditory and verbal capabilities in order to adequately communicate via phone and in person. 
  10. The employee is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
