SUMMARY:
Function: Analyzing samples in a high-volume chemical manufacturing for composition, impurities and/or functional characteristics. Operates and maintains analytical chemistry instruments and tools.
Scope: Responsible for performing routine analysis of samples and other routine activities to support in manufacturing.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The essential functions of this position require prioritizing and completing all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner, adjusting for changing priorities and availability of resources, and demonstrating initiative in identifying additional job-related tasks to be completed when time permits. The amount of time performing each function may vary day-to-day. All duties shall be performed in an efficient and professional manner in accordance with the company policies and under the direct supervision of a designated supervisor.
1. Prepares and Analyzes samples using analytical instruments and tools for trace, content, or defect analysis, including pH measurement, titration, gas/liquid chromatography, liquid particle counting, chemical performance, and trace metals analysis.
2. Operates and maintains analytical tools, performing tasks such as electrode solution exchange, septum/column replacement, cell cleaning, and glassware cleaning/preparation.
3. Monitors and manages consumable supplies for analysis ensuring inventory is maintained.
4. Creates and qualifies analytical standards for instrument calibration.
5. Performs qualification/stability studies for validation of analytical testing methods.
6. Follows all department SOPs, Data, and Forms and updates as needed.
7. Performs cleaning and organizing of all inspection areas according to 6S standards.
8. Suggest improvements to enhance the quality or safety of TOK processes.
9. Handles and disposes of hazardous waste properly.
10. Assists in quality monitoring on the production floor
11. Promotes continuous quality improvement in line with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
12. Maintains quality records, including standard qualifications, SOP updates, and maintenance records.
13. Monitor, evaluate, and assess job site conditions and equipment functionality, including inspecting, detecting, observing, identifying, and flagging concerns, challenges, hazards, equipment malfunctions, etc. to ensure work is performed efficiently and safely.
14. Use and operate a personal computer, office equipment and other technology devices frequently and consistently throughout each day with a high degree of skill, accuracy, and independent judgment for the purpose of reviewing, analyzing, creating, transmitting, and presenting documents, data, and other business-related information.
15. Attending required trainings on courses related to hazardous waste management and handling, general safety, quality management, and environmental management.
16. Perform other necessary duties and tasks as requested.
SUPERVISION:
Receives: Direction is provided by (Manager and/or General Manager). Completed work is reviewed for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with the established guidelines.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of a 2-Year AA Degree or equivalent education and experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
There is a potential for exposure to hazardous conditions and/or materials. This position requires employee to remain alert and observe surrounding areas and conditions to identify, recognize, and respond to potential obstacles, safety concerns, hazards, threats, property conditions requiring attention, unauthorized and/or dangerous persons, and emergencies. · Perform duties in a safe and efficient manner while wearing appropriate and required personal protective equipment. Follow all safety regulations and protocols. OTHER:
Personnel must successfully complete a program of on-site classroom instruction or on-the-job training that teaches them to perform their duties in a way that ensures compliance with all job requirements. Prior experience and/or certification that can be verified will be considered in evaluating training requirements.
FURTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:
May need to be able to work overtime as directed by Manager. May need to be able to work various shifts as directed by Manager.
