POSITION SUMMARY: Reports to Division Manager, oversees an assigned territory’s field activities and ensures that Company employees working in the field perform their duties in accordance with applicable law and AES’s high standards. The Flowback Field Supervisor is also responsible for ensuring that services are safely delivered in a manner that meets or exceeds client expectations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducts site visits daily in order to oversee and manage the work of flowback operators to provide optimal customer service.
- Assists and trains new hires and consultants regarding all well-related fluids and rig file issues including appropriate end of well reconciliation processes.
- Investigates and resolves any issues resulting from substandard performance, including appropriate discipline and/or recommendations for discipline, removal, and/or substitution of appropriate personnel.
- Complies with and ensures that all AES policies, procedures, and safety requirements are followed by all Company field personnel.
- Identifies and resolves employee concerns and complaints.
- Assists in the interview and hire of new flowback operators and with assigning, scheduling, and matching flowback operators to appropriate projects.
- Participates in annual and interim reviews of performance and provides continual feedback concerning employee performance and disciplinary issues, and makes prompt recommendations for necessary corrective action.
- Begins wells that are awarded on short notice and assists with ensuring a smooth handover to the assigned flowback operators.
- Researches, reviews, formulates, and modifies client-specific flowback operations and well reports and, in collaboration with the account or sales manager and fluids engineer, analyzes, reviews, and troubleshoots problems and makes adjustments, when and as necessary.
- Provides support and expert guidance to operations personnel by conducting morning reviews, attending and leading spud meetings, as needed, and analyzing predetermined wells and providing necessary feedback.
- Supports sales and field personnel in their achievement of service goals by promoting efficiency and ensuring quality control through surveying sites for expected and actual performance.
- Maintains constant communication with customer well-site representatives, rig and field support personnel, addresses customer inquiries and resolves issues, obtains customer feedback, and entertains customer representative, field, and rig personnel.
- Ensures steady communication between the field and AES warehouses to prevent waste and reduce unnecessary expenditures of Company inventory and employee time.
- Supports and participates in AES’s continual improvement program in conformity with ISO requirements.
- Conducts special projects and all other duties as assigned by the Division Manager.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least five (5) years of relevant oilfield experience including at least (2) years of high pressure management.
- Prior supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience working in an ISO environment is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and the maintenance of a driving record satisfactory to AES.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (including strong Microsoft Excel skills) and Outlook, and strong internet research skills.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Extensive experience with and understanding of high pressure iron management.
- Extensive knowledge of flowback costing and inventory management concepts.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and work effectively with a wide variety of audiences, including customers, field and rig personnel, flowback operators, sales, account, and AES management.
- Highly self-motivated and directed.
- Ability and willingness to precisely follow directions.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Superior organizational skills and the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and mathematical skills, with the ability to research issues, prepare/analyze data, and calculate figures and amounts.
- Ability to strictly preserve the confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary AES information.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
The Flowback Operations Field Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the work of all of completions fluids engineers in his/her assigned territory and working collaboratively with the Regional Engineering Manager and account/sales managers to ensure customers are fully satisfied with AES’s services.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Will work in office and field environments, with frequent exposure to fluids products, additives, and components (including crude oils, gases, acids, and other oilfield chemicals), occasionally, in confined spaces; and with regular exposure to heat, humidity, inclement weather, and excessive noise.
- Willingness and ability to work weekends and evenings while maintaining AES’s superior performance standards.
- Extensive travel required (>75% time in the field); must be able to drive and transport equipment required for the position.
- On call availability 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to proactively respond to customer, employee, and operational needs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Must comply with all safety and PPE requirements.
- Continuously required to stand and walk; frequently required to sit and type; occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, balance, and crawl.
- Able to regularly lift, carry, and/or move up to 60 pounds.
- Able to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjustment of focus.
- Required to frequently talk, hear, and listen in the process of communicating with AES management, warehouse personnel, and other third parties.
- Must have dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, tools, and computer and laboratory equipment.
- Must be physically capable of performing all work responsibilities in the environment described above.
