Laundry Attendant (Split Shift)

REPORTS TO: Housekeeping Supervisor 

SUPERVISES: No One

QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in English
  • Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • The employee is required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and pull/push; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance and 51-100 pounds with assistance
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus


Requirements


 

  • Under direct supervision, ensures facility linens and residents’ personal clothing are properly collected, sorted, laundered, distributed, and/or stored according to facility policy
  • Handles all laundry in compliance with sanitary guidelines
  • Sorts all soiled laundry into appropriate categories
  • Lifts and carries loads of laundry to and from cleaning equipment
  • Washes, dries, folds, and hangs all laundry neatly and properly
  • Identifies personal laundry with resident’s names and remarks personal clothing items if needed
  • Uses appropriate PPE when handling contaminated clothing
  • Performs other related duties as required or requested
