Job Title: Food Pantry Warehouse Assistant
Program/Department: Food Pantry/Distribution Warehouse
Reports to: Director of Food Pantry
FLSA Status: Part-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Position Summary: This position supports all operations of the warehouse, including but not limited to all food donations, both onsite and pickups.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday afternoons, 12:00 PM-5:00 PM (25 hours per week).
Pay Rate: $17.00/Hour
Essential Functions:
- Follow all procedures and instructions related to pickups and deliveries.
- Receive, weigh, and accurately record all incoming donations.
- Maintain inventory records for incoming and outgoing food by weight.
- Rotate food inventory using the First In, First Out (FIFO) method by moving older products to the front for immediate distribution and properly storing new donations.
- Ensure all required forms (including donor, pantry, and other documentation) are completed accurately, submitted to Director of the Food Pantry, and notify the Director when additional forms are needed.
- Assist the Truck Driver and Warehouse Supervisor with pickups and delivery of food, boxes, and other items as needed.
- Monitor and accurately record refrigerator and freezer temperatures.
- Assist donors with unloading and receiving donations.
- Break down cardboard boxes for recycling as needed.
- Assist in the Food Pantry as needed.
- Treat all volunteers, employees, and clients with respect, sincerity, and compassion.
Other Functions:
- Report equipment malfunctions including issues with trucks, refrigerators, and freezers to the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Maintain a positive, professional attitude when interacting with volunteers, donors, clients, and coworkers.
- Assist in supervising and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse, ensuring all work areas are clean and orderly at the end of the work shift.
- Other duties may be deemed necessary as assigned by management.

Equipment Used:
- Telephone, copier, scales, ladders, floor jack, forklift.
- Ability to operate a 26-foot box truck is preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Varying temperatures from cold in winter to hot in summer.
- Exposure to dust, truck fumes, refrigerator, and freezer.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Knowledge of trucks and all warehouse equipment.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to lift 65 pounds or more.
- Standing, carrying, climbing, reaching, sitting, walking, push/pull, driving, bending, hearing, writing, reading, and planning.
- Must be able to work on high ladders.
- Must be able to use hydraulic equipment.
