The Inventory Planner is responsible for managing and optimizing inventory levels to meet customer demands while minimizing costs, ensuring efficient supply chain operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential duties and responsibilities of this job are included but not limited to this job description – other tasks may be assigned and expected to be performed.
- Plan inventory for assigned product lines. This responsibility includes forecasting, setting replenishment criteria, purchasing, and distributing inventory through the service center network.
- Set up new items including bills of material and the warehouse management system.
- Work with the service center teams to troubleshoot inventory, picking, and receiving issues.
- Expedite with suppliers and manufacturing sites. Collaborate with manufacturing sites to optimize the replenishment process.
- Support customer service team to meet customer needs.
- Work with sales team on stocking programs, product introductions, and product end of life.
- Other tasks/functions as assigned.
- Minimum 5 years of pertinent work experience (supply chain and logistics preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree required
- ASCM Certification preferred
- Strong planning and organizational skills with an ability to handle a multitude of tasks.
- Self-motivated to learn with a desire and talent to advance professionally.
- Strong attention to detail. Excellent communication skills.
- High standards of integrity required.
- Willing to travel as needed.
- Proficient in MS Excel
- ERP experience required. QAD experience is a major plus.
